What will happen to house contents when I customize?

I have a 3 story home, which I would like to redo the 3rd floor.

If enter customize mode, will all my contents on the 1st and 2nd floors be thrown into a moving crate, even though I am not changing anything on those floors?

If everything is locked down, very few items will go into the moving crate. Some of your deeded items will probably get sent there (stone tables, vet rewards etc.) I also find that certain items that were raised or lowered (goza mats especially) go in the moving crate too. If you have anything on the front stairs, they seem to go in there as well.
