What use is the Ask Dev forum?

I have sent 2 nice posts to it.. Neither ever showed up... last post other than help with the fishmonger quests dates back to 11-10-10. Honestly if they dont want input or questions close it down.

That is a moderated forum whose posts are first screened before they show up. What criteria is used to determine what is posted remains a mystery. I also submitted a post that never showed, and it was nowhere near as off the wall as some of those that did show.

These days, it seems that if you are not asking a question about fishing, then forget it.

The 'criteria' for a post to show is that it has been answered.
If it's any consolation, I have questions languishing unanswered in there too.

Perhaps you are not wording the questions right.

They keep stating they are going to get better at communication, and failing miserably.

There's also extra criteria for what Dev's will answer, more than what's in the FAQ, (which I'd like to see expanded). Stuff like why can't we have nice things won't be answered(wish lists). Also overpowered rants, when you gonna do this or that? Things not in their control(dept), etc
Maybe that's why we don't see much answered - many are just not things they would answer.
Kinda like sending in a help request in-game for GM support, if it's phrased wrong, your chance of an answer dropped to Zero

Plain Jane questions only or else they won't answer it. Ask for exact %'s or calculations of something. Don't ask questions like why does this do this when it should do this.

I have found that high luck helps when posting to "ask the devs".

Make sure you have on your high luck suit, and don't forget to click on you anniversary statue before posting.

But even as Draconi stated before, luck is broken.

Which might then explain why they have failed to post anything for two months in that forum.

Yep, it is a consolation knowing this. It is more comforting knowing that I am not alone.
