What to do with Old Felucca #5

My 5th Character (I only have 5 characters...upgrades are expensive) is my old Thief character from back when you could actually steal from people...

I havent used him in a very long time but I want to actually make him useful and fun to play...so with a litter of soulstone fragments what would you transform this character into...

Maybe take tracking down so you can add magery to travel around, and bump up stealth to 120...la

I turned my thief into a stealth fencer.

120 stealth
100 hiding
110 fencing
110 tactics
100 anatomy
100 healing

That leaves me 80 points to dump into something else, just haven't decided what yet. Maybe Ninjitsu. Of all my characters I'd say I have the most fun with this one. Hiding and stealth have gotten him out of a lot of tight spots.

Yeah that sounds like fun Black Sun but at the same time I feel so horrible getting rid of Stealing and Snooping, I worked on those for 2 summers straight like 8 years ago

Eh, you don't go to the Idoc to place, but rather to steal from the placers. Or stealth around and loot those who are dropped by others...la

All great suggestions now time for 2 stupid questions....can you gain hiding in your house? or does that involve no skill so you gain nothing?

Does casting Earthquake break your LRC? if so what spell should i cast?

Sorry bare with me last time i trained Magery LRC didnt exist

I know that you can still gain hiding in your house at lower skill levels (below 30 to 40), but I am not sure about the higher levels.

No magery spell will "break" LRC. However, to train magery, you really do not need level 8 spells. Just use a mage weapon (lowering your skill by up to 29 points) so you can faster at the modified - lower level.

If you cast Flamestrike on yourself you will damage your LRC....

As far as the Mage weapons goes...what your saying is take a mage weapon put in hand lower my mage by -29 then cast a lower circle spell until I level?

Example currently at 109 Magery use -29 weapon which would drop me to 80 then cast 7th Circle Spells until i hit 91.0 which would be 120 without the weapon in my hand?

Ah... I see now... Casting direct damage spells on yourself will damage your armor and thus require repairs... Keep it repaired and you will have no problem, but honestly, you can get all the way to legendary without using any direct damage spells.

Also... your description of the mage weapon usage is right on!

Right so now my question is does Earthquake hit you? I dont see any damage to my HP but im not sure about my LRC...

Also do you no longer gain on fails? cause if i cast 8th Circle at Fake 80 magery I will fail a lot thus not wasting mana...

Back in the day...YEARS ago you gained on fails but I havent yet....

Cast your mage spells onto your spell book. It still does a skill check/takes your mana, but deals damage to nothing. Earthquake will not damage your LRC in any way/shape/form. Whoever suggested earlier to use a -mage weapon, that defiantly is the way to work magery.
OR if you can find one.....use a 100% poison damage -mage weapon and whack on a golem.

I soulstoned mine off and stuck them in the bank. I pull them out once in a while and play around with stealing.

Make a pvper for factions. get a friend to give you 30-50 points(whatever your shard requires for rank 10), then just train up a necro mage and go nuts. You need all 70 resists(at minimum), 45% dci and then you should be good to go.

You can no longer place a house right after a house fell. There is a delay (about 1 hour) now enabling people to resize safely their.

So, scripters can no longer instantly build a plot and drag the stuff (conveniently appearing under the house sign) onto that plot.

Cant cast spells in animal form and cant cast on the run, it will be your undoing!!!

It offers very solid defense with mild offense, i run with a DCI 50ep ring giving 80% ep(around 30hp from a str pot and about 40hp per heal).

Self repair bloodwood armor with LRC. I have enough to make a 100% LRC suit with +3 and +4 HP regen. It's middling resists, but doesn't matter with high HP regen.
