What should I craft with runic saw?

I have a yew runic saw and I dont really know what's it good for. I mean I could try to craft armors, but are they really useful, the exceptional change is pretty low? And can you meditate with woodland armor? Or maybe shields? Weapons?

What do you craft with them? I'd like to hear your opinions so I can think about how to use the charges on my saw :)

Ok, first I have to say, that I do not have a carpenter and I cannot speak by own production experiences.
In my opinion it depends what you want/need:
Wooden armor ist not medable(unless it gets the medable property through your runic saw) and you need high STR to wear it...but
If you make it out of heartwood, it COULD get +5%HCI or 10%DI on the crafted part plus any runic properties your saw gives them.
I have a macer and there are certainly some interesting weapons craftable by a carpenter....so I would go there!
About the shield question....since I just use shields with HCI, I would not craft that, but I read somewhere, that there is a special recipe shield that has FC1 on it by creation.....so if you create that and get another +FC1 from your runic properties you would have a +2FC shield (and that would be awsome for a FC4 paladin)...if you get the spellchanel property in addition to that you would have a spellchannel shield with FC1 (very nice for a parry mage).....
So, I hope I gave some ideas and get this discussion started....interests me too :)

Early on the craftable Set wood armor was pretty popular.

But as people realized it just wasn't very good, the saw prices started falling. I don't even see anyone trying to get them anymore. :(

A shame, because you can make some unholy powerful bokutos with the right woods and a runic.

Personally, I would use it mostly for weapons. You cannot craft as good of shields as you can get by enhancing the best of those that drop, and wood armor (as you say) isn't meddable.

One thing I might do for fun tho - try to craft a full suit of bloodwood armor. Save each piece that has +4 health regen and work up a set with 70 physical and poison resists and some reflect.
It would be useless vs most bigger caster types and for PvP, but you could seriously destroy most champ spawns up to the last wave solo. Even if you had virtually no melee skills to back it up. :thumbup:
