[Bowcraft/Fletching] What runic to craft 40ssi bows with?
According to http://community.stratics.com/threads/reforging-how-to.264020/ an ash runic would do fine. Most of the time you will end with 30 ssi but it has the chance to give 40 ssi. (When i tried yesterday, i wasnt lucky enough but i had only two runics to play with. With 5 charges per try i did fail 14 times. For my uses i had to pick one of the 30 ssi bows that i made that way. I was able to live with that.)
Remember, if you 'only' want 40 ssi, you can still get 30 ssi and enhance afterwards with ash for additionally 10 ssi. (But i would do after imbuing the bow fully. The lower req from ash would take another imbuing slot otherwise.)
