It depends on what I am doing with the pet. If I am doing a target specific pet, like one to chomp on DH I pack the resists to max in the damage he does. If I am looking for an all around use pet I try to balance all the resists out.

Oh, as to why? I would rather have my pet be able to live thru anything to a degree. Don't want to train
several types of pets and possibly scroll them out only to have a new scenario/boss/event/invasion/etc
where 45 cold resist would just really suck in that situation!

Noted, and added to poll.
couldn't vote as well yet ... on some of my lesser hiryus I'd used 80/80/65/75/65 which seems to be 200% of the max resists of an "ordinary" lesser hiryu

I try to go for pets with overcap resist like hiryus with 88-90 fire resist and it is always the cold damage that takes the hit on most of my pets. The exception being fire steeds that I crank the cold resist up specifically for fighting the things that drop cold damage and are weak against fire damage then usually poison or energy takes the hit. 0therwise it is 80-80-45-80-80 There just are not that many things I mess with that do any real cold damage.

I usually do all 80s with 45 poison resist. I dont think anything high end that i fight does much poison damage and low to midrange stuff it doesnt matter anyway. If i need to fight something that does high poison i have other pets with all 80s and 45 cold instead, and a naja.
