What Mouse Do You Use For UO?

Ok this has long bothered me. I play with an old school wireless logitech that has ONLY a scroll wheel. I use the scroll wheel for targeting. Scroll up for last target and down for target self. Its gotten me through forever and is compatible with UO Assist.

I would like to use a mouse though that has buttons on the side so that I can set other macros to it like teleport, bola, remount, apple, etc. Does UO even support something like this? I feel im way behind the times with this and could use some advice. What do you guys use? Feel free to ICQ me advice as well at 402886 thanks.

I have been considering this very subject lately. I also use a wireless Logitech with just a wheel.

Anyone have any suggestions?

If when suggesting you can post the model numbers and if compatible with uo assist and pretty much what you do or any pictures that would be very helpful.

I spend a lot of time with my mouse, and this topic is one I've myself spent quite a bit of time pondering. I finally settled on this model, Logitech MX 518, which unfortunately you can't get any longer from most retailers but are available on ebay and third party on amazon. Be careful with ebay mice though. I made the mistake of ordering one that was listed as "gently" used, I don't want to begin to think what was caked between the buttons. The mouse is wired, which I prefer over wireless since I know it won't get away. It also has a nice weight to it and glides effortlessly over the mousepad.

This is the Mouse I use. I love the 2 side buttons... I actually have one programmed to do Vent the other is programmed for last object. Works really well. I hate wireless don't trust it to not run down on me mid dungeon or something. Used to have a logitech which also had 2 side buttons. This one actually has 2 on each side though I kept hitting the ones on the other side on accident so I turned them off.

If you want a current production model of the 518 it shares the same body with the Logitech G400S. In fact, the G5 series and any mouse that use the similar body (G5, G7, 518, G400S, G500) are the only mice I can use. They're very comfortable and fit my (large) hands well. I actually bought my most recent one refurb'd, and if you can get past the weird aesthetics, you really can't beat this price:

I've got the simple Logitech wireless 5-button tilt-wheel M510 mouse and wireless K350 keyboard. The combo pack comes with the USB wireless dongle, that I put on a USB extension and hide behind my monitor. Running Linux Mint automatically shows the battery charge left in both keyboard and mouse. This is the first wireless combo that I have had no lag or disconnect issues with.

Logitech M510 Wireless mouse. Yeah it's the basic mouse, but I also use a Nostromo N52 and/or the keyboard (Thanks to the EC and "Press Enter to Talk") with the left and it does fine.

The Trackman Marble is very accurate and buttons easy to reach and press. It is also very light, so it's comfortable to have in your lap, if needed. I had that FX years ago. It is heavy and I sometimes had problems hitting the buttons on the right side, but a good alternative nevertheless. But try it out, it may become your next favorite mouse. :)

Logitech G500... and previous to that was the Logitech MX 518... I only upgraded to the G500 bc I needed the insane sensitivity it offered (up to 5600 dpi if I remember correctly) to be able to fly Heli's in BF 3. I just set the couple of extra buttons on the mouse to Heal & Cure pots typically... My next upgrade on that kinda thing is most likely going to be this...

I use this one and have for a number of years. I could never go back to gaming without it. I had been using the Nostromo N52 before that but switched to the G13... which I like MUCH better. And Logitech you can't go wrong. I had considered a Gaming keyboard but I'm rather hooked on my Microsoft leather padded ergonomic keyboard and don't think I could go back to a straight flat keyboard ever again.

Dude I have a Logitec M510 which has been pouring my Good Old Moonglow Red for a good long time now.

Works Perfectly. I can even throw a log on the fire every now and then!

Oh I coulda went the rest of my life without thinking about a nerds late night escapade lingering in used game gear. Gross.

I've used a generic mouse all of my gaming career but recently switched to that $80 11 button light up Warcraft mouse from Wal-Mart. It felt like a good deal but I have to say I hate it and i will switch back to a 2 button. Even though i can set every single pvp macro like pots, bola ect to my mouse It just doesn't feel right, my thumb is always hitting a button i don't want and in game macros don't support mouse keys. Maybe you can fix that!!

I use a Logitech Performance mouse MX.

http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/performance-mouse-mx

It has a scroll button, the scroll button clicks and goes side to side, two thumb buttons, and a hidden button at the base of the mouse (ok, and a recessed "button" that is impossible to click - for me at least).

The scroll function is switchable between bracket and smooth scrolling via a physical toggle.

One AA rechargeable battery, but the charging cord plugs directly into the front of the mouse. So, if it starts to go dead, you can just plug it in and play wired.

Best, simplest, mouse I have ever had.

Scroll button is set to open door (I'm lazy...lazy I say), and the thumb buttons are target nearest enemy (for honor), and attack last target. (The scroll wheel is set to target next/previous enemy.)

Super simple setup that has gotten me through a lot of UO. With two good sized thumb buttons that are up and out of the way I never hit the wrong one.

Mouse setup in the EC is completely customizable, but I have no idea about CC/UOA.

I used a Logitech Trackman Marble for years and loved it, but got sick of constantly having to clean the dust out of the roller connection points, so switched to this laser mouse.

not really second keyboard reason I got the 12o one was after a pipe broke in the bathroom upstairs the water rushes thru the ceiling, but misses all my pc stuff by inches. after cleaning the water up later I get a glass of water sit down and say to my mom (at same time lift my hand up knocking the water over all over my keyboard) wow that was close.only happens to me. use to have the g15 keyboard to many keys to many macros to remember on that keyboard. i'm happy with the 120 thou i still dont really remember most of the marcos.

I know this discussion is about mice, but since keyboards were brought up...

Behold. My IBM 1391404 "Model M" buckling spring mechanical keyboard. Born April 30th 1990 (yes, each one is individually date stamped and serial numbered) at 23 years old it is the oldest piece of hardware I own and still use daily. No this is not a joke. No I'm not cheap. This is the best keyboard in existence.

Fun fact: it weighs slightly over 7lbs thanks to a steel back plate. It doubles as a weapon.

edit: yes I am typing on this right now and is hooked up to my main computer.
Omg that click click drove me nuts when my brother n nephews played with that kinda keyboard. i had no interest in a pc til they got me hooked on UO. then i twisted my brothers arm and had him build me 1 now on 2nd one with the same cd rom from first one

Still have the green screen monitor that came with that keyboard? How did you fit UO onto a floppy disk?

I also use a Logitech MX518. Only mouse I like that fits my hand, glides easily and has enough programmable buttons without having too many (think Razor).

Been using these for UO for a couple of years now:

Mouse: http://www.razerzone.com/sg-en/gaming-mice/razer-naga/

Keyboard: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-967599-0403-G15-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B000AY0HTU

Both are fully compatible and combos very well with UO Classic Client + UOA and UO Enhanced Client. You basically use them to trigger the macros and keys that you have set up.
Eg, macro can be set to trigger UOA's disarm left hand key, wait 0.8 secs, then trigger UOA's drink GHeal pot.
Or, trigger UOA's disarm left hand key, then do wait 0.1 secs, then trigger UOA's drink GHeal pot for 10 times to ensure you get that pot down ASAP.

And neither has broken down yet, so I haven't an excuse to get them replaced/upgraded...
Naga is still in production, has the 3 standard mouse & wheel buttons, 2 fully configurable buttons normally used to set sensitivity on-the-fly, and 12 fully configurable side buttons.
The G15 is no longer in production, their current 18 macro button keyboard is the G510

Logitech thumb all drive m570 ftw.
I don't see how anyone could play without one. I hate have to move my mouse around and reposition constantly. And the extra buttons are a pleasant surprise.

I am the same way, I hate moving the mouse all over. Switched to a trackball many years ago. My first one was a microsoft that I had for 10+ years. I upgraded to the M570 a few years ago and have been very happy with it.

You can't beat those. I learned to touch-type on the old Wheelwriters, which had the same mechanics. Loud, sure, but touch response was perfect.

A few years back, a computer upgrade at the office gave us badly needed new desktops but also horrible "quiet" keyboards with muddled response, only a step above typing on an old Mattel Aquarius or one of today's roll-up silicone keyboards. The new desktops had no PS2 ports, and I abhorred the new keyboards so much that I kept mine and bought a PS2->USB adapter.

Everything else i do with my left hand on the keyboard. Easy peasy

I would copy paste this for myself, but it would seem stupid, so Ill just quote it & include that mine is the same except Logitech black keyboard, & Logitech black 3 button mouse. Anything less wouldn't b civilized (Charles Barkely rip from old spice commercial). I do not let programs or scripts play for me, I play the programs with my manual finger activity, in which scripting is not manual game play, so I avoid it if at all cost. UO offers the most manual game play out there, so I try to suck that up with any & all opportunity.

I've always played UO on a laptop computer. When I started playing in 2004, I didn't even have a mouse for the laptop. I did everything with the keyboard and the touchpad. However, after about a year of playing UO, a guildmate convinced me that I might have a little bit easier time of trying to target stuff if I invested in a mouse. It took me a few months to finally get comfortable with playing with my right hand off the keyboard so much and on the mouse part of the time (I never deleted the macros that required using the right hand on the keyboard), but eventually I did get the hang of it and can't imagine playing UO now without a mouse. The mouse I use is a Logitech M100. It is very simple--two buttons and a scroll wheel, and wired, of course. And no separate keyboard, just the laptop keyboard.
