Just about any monster can drop a slayer; however if you want slayers with decent or high end mods you can only get those from higher end spawn. I would not think that lizardmen and dread spiders will give many decent slayers. For a better chance try the higher/lower levels of shame and maybe wrong. I know while testing loot types on chessy i picked up a great deal more kill on lvl 3 and 4 in shame than i did on lvl 1 and 2. hope this helps
If you are really looking for a slayer to use - the best items are crafted by players. With imbuing you can choose your mods and your slayer type. Any weapon can be imbued up to 5 properties so if you know which five - a crafter can make you one fairly easily. Be prepared to pay though as adding powder (100k a vial) and special materials could push the price to 400k and up - it will be exactly what you are looking for.
I've been having trouble finding much at vendors and don't really know anyone on Atlantic. Been kind of a loner since returning to the game.

Vendor search? Never heard of it. Will google it.
gear like that isnt for sale much on vendors anymore because its just not profitable. your best bet would to be find someone helpful who can imbue you a slayer weapon.
Click on yourself and pick "vendor search".
Lesser Slayers (which deal +200% Damage) require White Pearls to imbue, which can get costly. Super Slayers (which deal +100% Damage) require specific ingredients, which are often times easier to get than White Pearls. 100% Element Slayer Weps, such as a 100% Fire Damage Spider Slayer Wep (for Navery), can cost a bit more to make as well, since those take Runic Reforging to make.
