What is your favorite character template to play in UO?

Hi All,

My question goes out to all who stumble upon this thread:

What is your favorite template to play? Is it a tamer? a mage? a crafter? a thief (... la)?

If you want to be very specific, you can even list out the skill combinations that you prefer to play most.

Thanks to all or any who contribute to this as I'm truly interested to see what all skill combinations players have come up with!

Spawner:

120 mage
120 spellweave
120 music
120 disco
80 necro
80 SS
80 med

Mage and spellweave are great offensive/defensive skills for spawning and complement each other well (arcane empowerment works for mage spells also)

music and disco for the final champ

necro and SS are set to 80 only for the death adder (controls silver serps at coon spawns) otherwise Id run only enough for wraith (awesome mana leech when casting essence of wind) plus the lil blue booger for gold at the end

I do need to add though, that functionality is much much much higher when running a level 3-6 focus, obviously...

Mana regen/LMC gear is kind of a must as well, spellweave is very mana intensive.

120 Mage (115 right now)
120 Necro
120 Spirit speak
110 Med
120 Eval
120 Weaving

Lvl 5 focus and Coon is a breeze.
Plus, attunement and gift of renewal in pvp situations can save you. Heh.

I was suprised to see the previous 2 post say their favorite template has spell weaving in it. I go in streaks but Most of my templates revolve around a spell weaver. Right now i am running a tamer/weaver. Taming 120,
lore 115,
Spell weaving 120,
magery 100 + 20 from Crystaline Ring,
Med 120,
Focus 100 + 20 from Crystaline Ring.
and with left over skills resist.
almost unlimited Mana, Very Nice
The High Focus (Circle) makes this template.
A nice Greater dragon helps too.

Spellweaving (with a decent to max focus) is extremely underrated...

Spellweaving (with low or no focus) is highly overrated...

My favorite is my pvm Character:

This includes jewel and other misc. bonuses.

Vamp embrace samurai with swords, or wraith samurai with macing.

It's awsome to watch my sampire solo things no man should on his own, my nox thief causeing trouble (back in the day) or my 6x120 mage/peace/tamer run through tricky spots with impunity but my favourite to play would be my bard

115 eval (sometimes 100 lockpicking)
100 med (sometimes 100 cart)
15 hide

I use etoile/novo bleue so no skill bonuses for me

As a mage bard i can watch a room full of spawn destroy themselves while i pick off stragglers
As a bard/t-hunter I solo maps from paragon chests and have a ball (a good tip is to aggro the closest healer and make him follow to a spot nearby, but not close enough for spawn to attack, for an easy rez)

Good times... Good times...

How cool is it though being a smithy/tailor and making an awsome piece of gear from your first runic

his stables only has frenzy and hellcats. been that way when I started him 8+ years ago

I have to say that my Tamer/peacer/Mage is my favorite, hands down. I have the old dial-up issues (happens when you live in nowhereville) so the peace keeps me playing.

No skill jewels, just the etoile/novo bleue combo.
One day I will finish the 120 on magery, but right now I just use the other points to get BODs. (0.1 tailor and 0.1 blacksmith for a BOD an hour)

Wow, thanks to everyone who has posted thus far!! I've been trying to experiment with different templates on my own characters to switch it up a bit, and it's FUN!

So far, I'm liking the thief/ninja template that I am still building up. I might have to rebuild one of my other chars into a necro/spell weaver to see what the hype is.

Go anywhere, do anything super scout, from Doom/champion spawns to grim reaper/berserker demon events, a very good peerless key farmer too, esp prism. My suit has crappy resists, but I rarely die due to smokebombs, attunement, gift of renewal.

My Pure Bard with 120 Music/Disco/Prov is lots of fun to play

Its hard to choose a favourite but those are my top 3 most played at the moment I guess...

Haven't been doing much PvP recently apart from the odd scuffle on my Necro Stealther but i've been working a Stealth Ninja recently who is nearing completion so hoping that should be quite fun when he's all ready!

As for myself, my long-term project is a sampire (finding weapons takes some finding), but probably my favorite more-or-less finished character is a peace/disco tamer:

i have a few bonusses on my armaments to give me that xtra 14 pts.
my wife liked the template so much that she duplicated it on her archer pally too; we can walk thru almost anything together cross-healing each other.
lots of folks like bushido to max damage but i havent fully examined this option yet; havent found the need, as this temp has absolutely NO weaknesses.

i like this 'food for thought thread'
making ppl think is usually a good thing ...unless they are nut cases!

p.s. this template is mainly for pvm. but i have ran across as many as 5 pvp'rs at once and lived. killed 3 of em b4 they got me. even went back and got my body (while they were going thru it. they had to move a buncha crap i put there to stall looters and thieves; a habit i picked up from my pre-trammel days) and taunted them a bit b4 i 'journey'd' out. haha! funny stuff. still gives me a lil chuckle thinkin about that.
obviously they werent very good or i woulda been toast.
