What is Horse Barding (Spring Cleaning Reward)?

Is it like Dragon Barding?
I saw the Horse Barding Reward listed under House Deco, and my house looks ridiculous enough without attempting to encase it in horse armor.
Must it only be used on Horses, or could it go on Nitemares? What about the ethereal mounts?
Any info is appreciated!

It's just a deco item. It's a rack with a set of metal horse armor draped over it. It's not actually useable on any type of mount.

Am I the only one that thinks its a little odd that a player can get horse armor but not actually put it on a horse?

No, I've thought we should have been able to armor our horses since the dragon barding came out.

Yeah armor for regular horses would be super cool.
