[Provocation] what is cooldown for provocation and does...

maybe i missed it, i guess there are just to many threads to sift through to find the answer, i tried, and i just couldn't find it. i couldn't find the answer on UO guide, or i stratics.
1st question: what is cooldown for provocation?
2nd question: does having high dexterity affect the cooldown timer?

NOTE: i do not have any bard masteries, i pre-date when that was a thing. so i don't really know anything of it. also, i'm running a mixed bag template, not a full-blown bard. so, as a bard, i only have musicship and provo.

1. 10 or 11 seconds, don't remember for sure but I want to say 11s.
2. Dex has not effect on the wait between using the skills

When I'm training chars, I use a delay of 8.5 seconds between tries.

#1 if you’re not running a mastery, you’ll want to use the provocation mastery. It has 2 of the most powerful mastery spells in the game. The barding masteries are the only “free“ masteries. just do a quick quest which gives you the mastery book too. You only need 90 real music and Provo skill, though I’d recommend 120 real skill, as the mastery spells benefits scale with real skill.

the normal barding cooldown is 8 seconds.
you reduce this to 7 seconds if any barding mastery is selected.
you reduce this to 6 seconds for provo if the Provo mastery is selected.

the 2 seconds saved is also a huge benefit.

would love to see bards get a bigger cooldown boost.

like each real skill at 120 can reduce the cooldown for skill usage by another second. seeing a bard get to actively use skills every 2 secs would make pure bards so much more useful aside from the song buffs.

i've always thought the cooldown on bard skills makes provo really impractical. you always need to get any stronger monster in discordance before having a change to provo them. it's a lot of waiting around time

The delay between tries is less than the time it takes to wear off if you're invis. So, in dodgy situations, I provo 2, invis, select the next two, then provo those when the timer wears off. Rinse and repeat. You're only visible for short periods, and if you're careful, you can mostly avoid being targeted .

well, that's when you cast an ev and provo that onto the last mob.

but wouldnt it be so much more fun to play a bard if you're not sitting there invis waiting for cooldown timer

i mean, a sampire can spam skills like crazy. i mean, add a mana cost or something, thats fine with me

Try it before you dis it, it's not as carefree as you're assuming.

Bards are fine outside of the fact there are too many non bardable monsters and way too many 160 barding difficulty monsters
