I have been looking at several I have found on the internet and some are free but some cost up to fifty USD.
I don't mind spending 50 USD on something like Snagit, but are the free ones anygood or are some of the ones you pay for actually worth the money. I definitely want advanced editing features with it. Thanks for any advice people, as before when I played you guys are still pretty helpful with stuff like this.
Also is photobucket the best for free image hosting?

"VISIT NIDAROS", a player town a few screens east of Skara Brae

Photobucket sucks now. They crop your images and make them smaller. But for UO it wouldn't matter much. As for screenshot programs, I used to use one called "Uo Screenshot Utility". I haven't used it in years, but I'm about to bring it back because people refuse to admit that I can kill them lol.

I used to use UOSU. I wish I still had it lying around. It was very simple and effective but I think the site for it died a while back. If you can get hold of it, it's definitely one of the best I have used.

Since I got my new computer I have been using the Snipping Tool with Windows 7. It is far from ideal though, but it works. I just haven't got around to finding something better as I only need a screencapture thing for UO. Other games I play are on steam and steam has a screencapture thing built in.

I have not used Gadwin but I shall take a look at it.

I googled UOSU (Ultima Online Screenshot Utility) you can still download it, however it comes with some ******** software you'll want to uninstall for backing up files and windows. I hate when websites like CNET make you download extra crap for no reason. It seems to take decent screen captures, but no video :(

I just used the little video capture how-ya-doing with snagit and it's not too shabby. I'm not sure if I'll pay money to get it, but it was easy to use and fairly simple. Also, since I KNOW that I will never snag a screenshot during a fight, a video capture is my only hope of being a true stratics warrior! I all seems pretty simple and you can edit and the like, though I didn't bother figuring it out.

Of course, I'd have to start playing first to do anything...... but hey, whatever. Snagit has a free 30 day trial, but is 49.99 or something for perminent use.

I looked at a bunch of free ones and they seemed to be malware infested. There's probably something that's not bad somewhere, but I'm too lazy to look too hard. If I start playing again, I think I'll spring $50 for a reputable program that I don't have to worry so much about.

The only issue w/ video is it doesn't take long to eat up a TON of space. a 20minute video (of course it was in darkfall) was 20gigs! Be a lot of editting. Pics ftw.

Mine did 37 mins with 500mb. I don't know if you can turn down the resolution or whatnot. I thought that wasn't too bad, 1 gb per hour... edit after.

I just use the Print Screen button and paste into a Gimp 2.6 Transparent layer to edit later.
