I learned that if you run a script at 2am there are no GMs online and there's nothing anyone can do to stop you from cheating.

I am glad they did run thier scripts. I know a lot of the plots were won by Baja players and not the scripters. I hope they lost a ton of gold thinking they were going to make a fortune. LOL

alot of people on atl were not scripters that won i only spent like 11m total on all the tram plots and won E1 and that was only 1 char one ticket

I see a striking similarity in this and the real world.

The people who pay into the lottery system frequently whine that they cannot get ahead.

Did anyone try to buy a ticket with an acct under 30 days old? or one of the free 15 dayers? Just curious if it allowed you to or not. I used 4 accts and spent about 30 mil total on 10 shards and won 20+ tickets.

This goes way back to years and years ago when the scripters would hoard frostwood, turn it in for Library collectibles and sell them for a lot of gold.

The most incredible thing is though, that after so many years we are still here complaining about scripting in Ultima Online.

It is most amazing to me that nothing as still been done to stop this activity hurting so many players in the game. Over time, I met quite several who left the game because of the rampant ongoing cheating in Ultima Online.

There is a reason for this. Stopping scripting would be incredibly difficult and expensive development effort involving very invasive client software. And after development was first completed, it would be a continual arms race with the scripters.

Do you really want to see our limited development resources derailed to address this issue? Well, I suppose you, popps, might. But I doubt most players would see this as an issue worth giving up most other development over.

I wouldn't worry too much about the scripter, I'm sure they're on an excel spreadsheet somewhere. I guess if everyone is upset about the possibility of a scripter using old game codes to open multiple accounts just for the houses lotto, then everyone should hold off on buying a plot for 45-60 days.

50+ accounts for 5$ are 250$ and more where is the problem for EA? Banning people because they created a new account?

I say... hell no. It couldn't remotely rival Luna in any way shape or form. Pay 500m or more for Magincia? HA.

Nobody cheated the system - if someone will take the time to make 50 accounts and go thru all of that nonsense for a pixel house... then more power to them. None the less... for Atlantic at least... even if the knucklehead dropped a million on each property... his chances were not that dang great anyway.

I lost 2 plots in fel with a 1 in 2 chance. Now thats a tragedy!

Yes, if you had a new account code or buddy code, those could buy tickets immediately. I'm not talking about the 15 day trial codes, but the ones that were packed in with the old retail boxes.

From posts in other threads, these scripters were just using a free script released on a scripting engine website. It wasnt just one scripter, it was tons of them all running the same script at the same time on all servers.

If I wouldn't get banned for it, I would post a link to where you can download the script and download the rail that everyone used.

After reading some of these threads I can tell some posters have big imaginations... Like the Illuminati Trilogy, just with UO
