Well the good news is that he wouldn't need to do much to UO then because there are already tons of unfinished pieces of the game... the steaming pile of garbage is subjective but I think there are quite a few parts of UO (ie QA testing done by Misk) that would fall under that.If anyone has been following his recent ventures, you already know if he was to associate with the franchise again, in anyway, would be a mistake. Dude is a mess and every project he has launched in the last 5+ years has been a steaming pile of unfinished garbage.
And we respect thatDude is a mess
I completely agree here. As much as I'd like to see the UO IP pass to someone who wants to do something with it, Richard Garriott would be a huge setback. That's saying something with how low the bar is currently set.If RG is after UO, he likely just wants the Ultima IP so he can use it on his next abomination of a game. He'll brand it "a spiritual successor to UO" and shut down the UO servers to drive the players there. Mark my words.
Can only pay for game time with UO Coin, which is only available by purchasing NFT's with Bitcoin. What a mess he would be.I completely agree here. Swen Vincke, the CEO of Larian Studios (which last year produced Baldur's Gate 3, which shattered gaming records), said he wanted either the Fallout or Ultima IPs...I completely agree here.
