I realized that a big driver for me playing Ultima Online are the objectives I have not done, after damn near a decade and a half of playing...
For me:
- Own a castle. This was one of my first objectives I set for myself in Ultima Online. But I've really cooled on this. Mostly because the castles are fugly and you can't customize them, plus I have all the storage space I need. But fact is, I have never owned a full blown castle in Ultima Online.
- PK an innocent. After all this time, I have never killed another player via a PK attack. But I don't choose to do that. I HAVE, however, killed many PKs, and in some of my proudest UO accomplishments, saved others from being PKed.
- Gotten an Ornament of the Magician drop in Doom. I have my Doom collection but have never gotten the top prize. But then, that's why I do Doom so often. Not attaining the top prize makes it that much more precious and keeps your interest.
- Unattended macro. Every point of every skill was me clicking the mouse.
- Completed a Harrower Quest. Mostly because by the time Harry appears, the PKs of Sonoma are waiting for us.
- Played a tamer or bard. Neither has ever appealed to me.
- Killed a paragon dragon or great wyrm. Got fed up after dying too many times.
- Fought the medusa. Never got around to it!
- Ever figured out how to grow an orange plant that gives petals. But then I didn't spend much time gardening.
- Killed Thraximus in the Sonoma PvP wars. But he's left me in the dirt a few times.
- Solo'ed a Dark Father and won.
- Built an Imbuer. That's a grind I can do without.
- Ever got a Paragon Trifecta (artie, chest, and monster treasure map all generate as loot)
- Gathered all the keys for a Peerless by my lonesome.
- Fought Chyloth's dracolich. (What the hell does he DO with all those Gold Skulls?)
- Sailed uninterrupted all around Britannia, stopping at every port, in one gaming session.
- Got married in game. Just didn't find the right girl I guess.
- Have owned more than 35 million gold at any point.
- Rode a llama.
- Won a town for my faction. If you aren't CoM on Sonoma, you never get to play John Wayne, only the indians.
