What happened to Yew?

I used to play several years ago. I started out in Yew. Then, at one point, it became a swamp. Now I've started again and I wandered by and see it's a town again. I was just wondering what's the story on this? Thanks.

IC: On Europa, the druid Father Antos and a Yew girl named Glade opened a rift in the middle of the swamp to start the healing process. The Commander of the Royal Guard Jordan Jurrel then used a sword recovered from Minax, the Brightblade, to channel energy into the rift and complete the healing.

Hmm I've been playing since T2A and yew town has always been there since I've played.

Of course, you've probably never left Fel - it was Trammel Yew that got turned into a swamp for 5-6 years.
