What Does Your Shard's New Magincia Look Like?

Below is a pictorial overview of what New Magincia currently looks like on Siege Perilous. The houses framed in red are public and most have stocked vendors as well. (E-4, currently public, will be awarded as a prize in the upcoming Miss Siege contest.) The houses framed in blue are private.

Siege only has one New Magincia, so this is all we have to work with. How has New Magincia developed on your shard?

I don't want to take a crap load of pics and all but I'll say this... some of it... Looks GREAT.... while much of it.... looks like they need to hire designers.

Talk about Ugly yes with a capital U.

Borg cube anyone?

At least most of them had the sense not to use that highly disgusting crystal crud.

I lovvveee ugly borg cubes with wide open spaces! If you want to make a roof you have to make your house smaller, and if you want to decorate w/ detail you usually have to make your house even smaller, and you guys are already hindered by a 15x15 size. Other than for RP purposes, highly decorated houses just aren't practical to me. I guess it's neat to make a bar, or a bunch of tables people could sit at, or a bunch of tiny rooms dedicated to a skillset, or a massive rooftop garden that pretty much makes the top floor worthless other than deco, or inlets dedicated to grown plants, but eh. I'd much rather a guy make a borg cube and fill it with dye tubs and portals on the first floor rather than RP crap, and have it so you can run around on each floor and maybe PvP on the top . Oh, and some vendors. I'll never understand why some Luna or New Mag houses don't have vendors. Total waste of ownership not to have vendors.

I like the feel of Catskills, not every building comes from a better homes and castles issue, but they generally have a fishing village feel to me.

most of sonomas tram side is fresh empty plots from when it went free to place but rest are pretty nice so far. Have noticed some places where the houses are off placed. ill try to upload the pic, this house looks like it could have been 15x18. the steps are right up against the house lot stone and looks like it was ment to be placed a few tiles back from house lot stone.

Most New Maginicia's I've seen so far, at least look better than most shards Britain Banks. Which I guess really isn't saying much.

i was wondering the same
when i placed my house it seems i had room up to stone and back some. does anyone know if size is defined by where u place exactly or does it just check if size is 15x15 or smaller and you can place anywhere in area of plot?

i did try some larger sizes and couldnt get a good response so at the time i assumed 15x15 was a limiting factor no matter where your placing in area.

Here is a picture of what I did with my E-3 lot. (Fel Side, Atlantic) I wanted it to be a Seaside Winery. I used alot of rubble sandstone throughout the house as well. Hope you enjoy.

do you have to have floors to hand vines on upper levels and then remove floors?
is there another way to hang vines on an outside wall (2nd story)

From my experience (placing one and helping a guildmate place his) it seems as if the devs made a 15x15 area within your house plot available for placing. So you can´t place anywhere you like within your plot area, you need to find that 15x15 area to place on.

Most likely it´s done that way to prevent people to place a 15x16 or anything else bigger than a 15x15.

However, why that 15x15 area isn´t on the same spot (for example 3 tiles north of stone) on all plots I have no idea.
