Hi,

Just wandering:
1. what kind of bow do you make
2. what kind of wood would you use
3. is it a good idea to use regular wood and enhance later based what properties is on the bow?

Thanks

1. Can't answer this one. I prefer the slayer bow, as a PvM type, but the PvPers prefer lightweight shortbows for the speed and Balanced properties. Others like making repeaters, and a few out there like other types.

2. Most crafters prefer Ash for the SSI bonus, a few use Yew for the HCI & DI, if they are crafting for themself and know that 10 extra SSI won't matter in the grand scheme of things.

3. NEVER craft runic bows with normal wood, as you are likely to break any bow on enhancement.

I vary the bows some. I love fast magical shortbows for pvm, but really any bow with 30-40 ssi does well. For Pvp, they have a variety of bows they like which have good pvp specials on them (heavy xbows, etc).

The trouble is, you won't get exceptional all the time with all those due to the difficulty level. A regular bow is nice because you'll get the exceptional bonus all the time, but then again, if you roll a damage mod on the bow, you'll get pretty high damage increase anyway.

Maybe make a bunch of different types. I made 5 magical shortbows, 5 heavy xbows, and 5 regular bows on my last kit. Got a nice pvp heavy xbow out of it, so broke even, but only had the 1 nice bow.

Always use Ash for bows, the main mod on bows is SSI. Since most bows are slow, and the majority of them are VERY slow, ssi is the main mod you want on any bow. Enhancing bows depends on the mods already on it, but when you create them, you want ssi, ssi, ssi.

Always make the bow with ash, don't make it regular and try and enhance later. The only people who do this are those with dozens of kits who can afford to waste money. Most people can't. Just make them with ash, there are plenty of other ways to get DI and HCI.

I like the composite bow myself. Armor Ignore/Moving Shot is why. I look at the moves on a bow. A slayer with 100% DI on the armor with high Mana Leech makes a deadly bow for PVM. That will give you the max of 300% DI on every shot without needing enemy of one useing mana. A large mana pool and leech keeps Armor Ignor coming about every other shot. It helps to move and hit things between Armor Ignor.
I pick the bow type to match the moves for the job you want it to do. I like everyone go for SSI
