I think you might be a bit technical for a starting player
Basically, a sampire is someone who gets part of the damage he delivers back in the form of health.(hit points = HP)
A warrior is usually considering a small set of skills:
Sword-Fencing-Mace Fighting : A warrior usually pick one of those, the higher his skill, the higher defensive and offensive chances he ll have (higher hit chance and defense chance). They are called melee weapon skills. Having several weapon skills lower the amount of mana you use on special styles.
Archery-Throwing: Same as above but ranged weapon skills. They can come as a complement to melee skills. (Only humans and elves can have archery, while only gargoyles can have throwing).
Tactics: This allows you to use special styles tied to your weapon. It also significantly increases the damage you deliver. Every weapon has 2 special styles, you need 70 tactics and weapon skill to trigger the first one and 90 tactics and weapon skill for the second one. It takes some experiment to know what weapons and styles are good.
Anatomy: Gives an average damage increase, a bonus to Evasion (a Bushido spell), and coexists with healing for the amount of damage healed with bandages.
Healing: Allows to heal with the use of bandages. At high levels of the skill and anatomy, you can heal a fairly high amount of health, as well as the most venimous poisons. You may even resurrect other players with it. The highest your dexterity stat, the fastest you ll be healing. You can also heal other players (cross heal) with this skill. At 150 dex, you will be able to heal your friends in around one second, which is the best heal simply available in the game.
Parry: Gives you a chance to dodge hits through your weapon or shield, depending if you are a samourai or a legacy warrior.
All the above are the most basic and historical skills to consider.
Chivalry: Paladin skill. Gives you access to teletransportation from using runes or runebooks. Provides you various karma based healing spells (the highest your karma, the most effective they will be. On the other hand, with very low karma, it wont be very effective if any). Gives you access to consecrus arma (spell that guarantees you will always hit the weakest resistance of your opponent), and Enemy of One (Gives you a final bonus of 50% dmg, while making you 100% weaker to any other target types). Both duration based. Also gives you access to Divine Fury (Fully refreshes your stamina, gives you 10% swing speed increase, hit chance increase and damage increase while lowering your defense chance increase by 20%).
Necromancy: Allows you to cast spells that turn your character into various forms, providing you various bonuses. Gives you the ability to use Curse Weapon: A spell that will return 50% of the damage your deal into your health. Also has a range of other spells usually more suited to the caster types.
Spirit Speak: Allows you to heal yourself through mana or corpses, and determines how long your Curse Weapon spell would last (0 spirit= 0second...). Also allows you to speak with Ghosts at high levels
Those 3 skills above can be used as complements to your basic warrior skills: They usually don't need to be raised to the max level.
Now the Samourai Skills:
Bushido: I wont list all. It grants you the ability to parry with weapons (so allows you to use 2 handed weapons and still parry, or one handed weapons and pots and still parry). Allows you to cast stances: Evasion (bonus to parry AND allows you to block spells!), Confidence (Hit Point Regen Surge and gives back hit points when you Parry your opponent hits!). Gives access to Lighning Strike (Capped hit chance hit, with a chance to deliver critical). This skill is commonly considered very effective.
Ninjitsu: I wont list all. It gives you access to various forms, providing various bonuses (some very useful for group play). You can for example use a form to run at horse speed while being on feet. Gives you Mirrored Images, that will make a clone of yourself take hits instead of you (but those clones have 1HP). It's considered very effective on highly defensive templates. People may add info about it because I dont master that skill at all.
The 2 skills above also trigger some special styles, also called as samourai styles, that you might find on some weapons.
Now what to do? It s your choice! You can test on live shard or test shard and figure what you like most. Though, if you want group play, healing can provide very good! For solo, the necro forms or spells are super. There is only one limitation: You skill points total cannot exceed 700 (720 after four years).
You can also use casting skills or miscellaneous skills as secondary skills. Magery, mysticism would get you ranged heals and access to various tools. Hiding/Stealth, allow your character to run while hidden, while triggering some special hit styles.
The combinations are really close to infinite, though, as your first character, I wouldnt recommend using an hybrid. I d also mention that Faction items, aforementioned, usually require you to have very high ranks within the factions, which you probably dont have as a beginner!
