Well the way things are going I looks like it will be CRARPOF although I hope something will have moved on by then cos a 2 week break probably means I wont be able to hang or take down my banners due to this stupid loyalty decay.

'Was it exciting?'

No it damn well wasn't, running around endlessly Clearing Rubbish Arresting Rioters and Putting Out Fires is not really my idea of entertainment. Also any entitlement I get doing it being subject to decay really P..... me off. I feel this has gone on quite long enough. It's time for something new and an end to CRARPOF.

I'm a tad confused. I must have missed the login window that said this stuff is compulsory.

It's a poorly designed game quest. So what. Don't participate. I'm off to enjoy the outdoors and plan some activities for my own guild for later on.

Except... you forget that a lot of the point of UO is the freedom to do anything - and for a lot of people one of the most enjoyable aspects of the game is the collection of unusual or rare items. Good development and management would be recognising, and hopefully rewarding, all the playstyles of UO - and this particular 'quest' falls very short indeed on that score. I appreciate 'every' playstyle is hard to cover in one system - PvP in particular often looks for things that are not of great use or interest to the non-PvP world, and similarly much of the 'collectable' aspect ofthe game is meaningless to many players- but this one manages to be semi-RP but a grind, item collecting but a grind, a pain in the neck for house designers who face an awkward issue if in future they redesign or move house....it's just bad even for those who are fans of the aspects it is meant to cater to!

The disappointment is that, as so often in the past, this could have been so much better but instead is frustratingly lacking in good design and thought. Another 'partial success' on top of a long history of near-miss systems.

Perhaps you also missed the login window at the start of this event which said nothing at all about decay. It also never mentioned that this would seemingly go on for ever. Also missing was a reference to the inabilty to hang or remove banners due to said decay.

So for those stupid enough to start CRARPOF at the beginning (we really should have known better) we are now in a Catch 22 situation. Do we continue to CRARPOF until the end of time? or do we waste the endless hours of CRARPOF we have already committed?. I aint hanging any banners till I know I can take them down if I want to in future. A wonderful choice is ours thanks to this delightful system.
