What could be done to thiefes? ( to make it more playable class )

Currently, Thiefs cant really do no harm. Back in the old days ( aye, i know, those are history and gone for ever i guess ), good thief, could be real pita. Now, only thing you can do, is steal regs from mages ( from those that dont have lrc100 ) and bandages from warriors. I mean, its not really playable class anymore, yet you need lots of play hours to get it. Stealing, hiding, stealth, snoop. Those take quite lots time to finish and what can you do with that. Steal arties.. I dont know, what could be done. You cant take insurance out, i know that. You cant make every facet, with fel ruleset, i know that too.
But something should be done to thiefs as pvp class and not just add new stealables in every Addon.

So, problem (imo) in this, is lack of items, you can steal from players.
We can only steal items that are uninsured OR cursed. So, that gives us two choices and first one is not going to happen ( nor i would want, i guess )(remove insurance) and second is Add more cursed items.
Those items should be something that players eagerly want, but not so rare, that you could not wear in pvp.
Make Cursed arties spawn again, someway. Add em to normal gauntlet, with 1.5 or 2x drop rate.
This is just idea, that prolly could not be added as is.

What else could be done for thiefes?

I made a thread about this a long time ago. Here's the short version:

Most people's knee jerk reaction is, "Thieves are gone because the risk was far lower than the reward."

I said I agreed with this (and murdering) and offered up a very detailed suggestion on how to balance the risk & reward. And it really was the risk & reward that was the reason Trammel was introduced and non-consentual play was side-lined -- not because people just "didn't like getting stolen from."

I was promptly told I was an ignorant typical U.Haller that couldn't let go of the past.

That went well.

for me the thief is a really fun way of playing

the first thing to do is to nerf the auto detect if they are in stelath

ex: give a bonus to the stelath if the char has 100+ in stealing

so they can go after the players without the big risk to be AUTO detected

Well, you could always add the ability to snoop and steal from monsters. Would seem like a good step to take.

Don't sound good to me. (ignoring that the corpse is generated on death - otherwise they'd have nothing to steal o.0)

My impression of it has always been theifs are usually against suggestions to make the skill more viable in pvm and the only way to make it more viable in pvp would be to remove insurance - which isn't likely to happen.

When thieves became garbage collectors, mine got shelved.
