What Can a GD Solo?

I just became a tamer so forgive me.. I have a fully trained GD I bought. I'm wondering what Champ Spawns it can solo (I tried an Ilsh spawn and was doing alright until paragons targeted me). I mainly bought the GD for leather farming, but I want to know its capabilities, especially since the un-published GD nerf.

firstly seldom have I seen pets have an issue....it is normally the tamers that are incompetent!

And my Friend if you bought a fully trained greater Dragon to farm leather, I gotta feel you fall into that category!

Go get a few lesser pets and farm/hunt with them. Learn how to take down multiple mobs and survive with you and your pets intact. Then you will be fine!

Alone a GD can't solo that much. What makes it able to solo anything big is based on who controls it, and what supporting skills the controller has (the tamer)

And how well he/she combines the two together...

Well I have always found para ballys a nuisance for my style of play until I tamed a GD. Now when one spawns I just get the Drag and it's sorted. About all I use it for really, just to clear the air! Otherwise it seems mightily overpowered and not really a test of a tamer's skills (but handy in a pinch).

With the right tools and tactics, a good tamer with a greater dragon can solo nearly everything.

The ones I know a GD can't solo are: Paroxysmus, Slasher of Veils and maybe the Stygian dragon.

I'm not sure about the shimmering effusion, I've seen the rest get killed with only a greater dragon and some help from the tamer.

Huh... I have a 4.4 Star GD and it can't solo much.

It can kill a lot of stuff with my help, but thats not soloing. Also, somethings require specific builds to solo, and the appropriate gear.

I doubt a GD can "solo" a spawn. You would need a decent damage template to help the dragon, maybe a necro? But even then you can solo most spawns to the champ as a necro anyway.

As mentioned, It'll depend on the rest of your template Sweeney.

ICQ me if you want to discuss it from a Siege perspective.
