Well, finally made it...kinda anti-climactic

My Smith (Malinda on LS) made 120 smith last night, earned the 120 scroll myself, mined all the ingots myself (this all, w/o any assisting programs - in game macros only). Worked on this close to 2 years - NOW what do I make with my Legendary Smith? Armor? No, because LEATHER is better (still cannot get my head around that one). So I guess, from advice read here, I will do weapons - probably swords for my fighter.

I did get an Aggie hammer during the Haven blackrock event, as soon as those runic changes go into effect, I give her a few swings and see what pops up.

Heck, you did it exactly the same way a LOT of smiths in this forum have. Just plugged along until you got there.

As the world's crappiest power-gamer, I'm darned proud of ya!

And maybe.. yes maybe the runic fix will help us make stuff that folks will use again. I'm hoarding a couple of hammers I got in the turn-in too.

There are some smith made armors that come with the mage armor property built in. They're Tokuno plate bits.. and other folks here have been kind enough to post the entire list. Since as yet it hasn't been truly important to know which they are, I've been lazy about looking for it. Should this become an issue, it'll be stickied somewhere up top.

Until then.. eh.. I use my lower level hammers to make weapons, hoping for a super-slayer. Everyone is Doom crazed right now, so the occasional demon slayer will sell.

Congrats! Having recently finished my smith after 2 1/2 yrs, I know how good a feeling it is to finally be done. Save your runics until after the change though, they'll produce MUCH better stuff then.

Welcome to the top of the Cranky Smiths' ladder.

You now get to argue that the old ways were so much better, and that nobody knows how much trouble you've seen while swinging a runic. And for those of us that did it from the ground up by 'pressing buttons' (or if you're really ancient like some of us, selecting from a menu -- no make-last) you get a free 'oops that was a silly post' post.

You also can now put your name on almost anything you like; labels, it's all about labelsthsss.

Really though, congrats!!! This is about the bestest club in the land. When we complain, we have the respect to pull it through without everyone laughing at us
