So ... I finally have a few days off, I decided to come back, and give UO a try.

Yeah, not working out so well. Its been half a day since I renewed my account, and I cant log in. Contacted customer support, they said they are aware of the problem, but cant do anything at the moment.

I had plans of using UO as some stress relief today, my job as a paramedic has been a grizzly, seat of my pants, hanging on by my fingernails, bloody, horrible, stressful mess lately.

Mind telling us where you get roadblocked during the log-in process? Some of us may be able to help point you in the right direction.

Ok.. downloaded the latest client, patched to the latest patch.

Got my three accounts linked to a master EA account.

Picked my main account, and updated the subscription, it is now active.

Attempted to log in since 9AM, and I get the usual screen pop up... that your password may be incorrect, if its a new account it may not be updated, blah blah blah.

I went back to my account and attempted to make a new password, just to be safe... on all three accounts, it wont even do that... it says invalid password... If my passwords were invalid, I would not have been able to link the accounts to my main EA account....

Called support, and they say its a current issue, and they are working on the problem, but cant do anything at the moment.

I am going to try to set up a trial account now.

sigh perfect storm for you it seems sad to say for the last month since they decided to do the account migration thingy a minority of the players have gotten messed up by it all i feel bad for you since you fianally get time off to relax only to find a situation like this.

I went to the online chat support, i sent screenshots of my error message, my active account status, and the drop down showing my three linked accounts...

they said it was not correct account info.... on the phone now...

oh, trial account works, just fine. So its account migration...

Finally got logged in... says account is 2 months old... and a bunch of noob characters, none of my mains... I give up.

Not even asking for a refund, just gonna cancel

I wonder if they even tried to test this account thing internally before to release it. Ah ah, i'm joking here, i know they didn't. Too bEAd.

Im afraid thats the UO of today. A crock of s**t as far as any level of professionalism or customer service is concerned. Quite simply, they just dont care.

The account age issue is a known bug from the account migration. My 14 year account currently shows 8 years old.

As to the noob characters, it sounds like your account was used by someone else since you left (given access? hacked?) and those main characters may have been deleted, or transferred to another shard.

just don't hurt the truck. sorry you're having problems. if you quit before the SA Xpac, just try to enjoy the the busy holiday and chill, it'll be worth it in the end. thanks for your dedication, that's a tough job

Tryed another account, one that was given to me... Its playable, but just does not feel like my own... I guess I need soul stones, and to put together some new chars...

really good old school roach mage there... I did work on him a little...

So I will stick around... geez, even though I dont prefer sonoma... Lots of room for housing there... and nobody to fight over spawns... LOL

God I miss UO right around publish 16, when champs started...

not to argue or anything, but your insane level of negativity won't help anything, in case you failed to notice it very well might be the cause of the problem.

Also there is a flaw in your comment "that's the UO of today" When really this has nothing to do with anyone working on UO, but then again CS really has nothing to do with UO. I do not disagree with you about the way things are poorly handled, but still you keep trying to pinpoint the problem to a specific thing that it is not, if you put your negativity in the direction it should be I might not have commented at all. (although, again, negativity is not helping anything. It is called critique not bash.)

Its all good guys... I have at least one decent account. I just need a little distraction. I will probably play for a month, and then call it quits. EA gave horrible customer service, but once I got hooked up with the Mythic guys, it was much better.

Sonoma is a ghost town, I play casually, and solo a lot... but I am not sure if there is even a point to invest any time in UO anymore... Played since before Trammel, and I remember when just placing a tiny house anywhere was a big deal. Now almost every vendor is empty, and I can place 18x18s everywhere...

But I do have a warm place in my cold black heart, for UO. I could just hang around moonglow, bushwacking seekers of adventures all day, and never get bored. My job requires tough decisions, in UO, I just run around and kill stuff and have fun.

Given your situation, you might consider starting fresh with a new character on Atlantic. The shard is still very active. Often, the fun is in the Journey and starting a new character in a strange place with new people can be good.
