Sup everyone, returning player here from the days of old just giving anyone that I know or who knew me a heads up that I've renewed for the time being to see how this game has developed since I last played (around 04 iirc).

If you were around when I was playing, give me a shout, pm me, or whatever your desired method of contact is other than ICQ (no longer have access to that account since I forgot the password, yes the password and not the actual number lol). To name a few of my characters since I'm fairly confident no one knew the name Mr Gerbik when I played, names include:

Dr Octagon
DrDoom
Vlad Dracul
Mad Lion

I had others but those were the ones I used most, during the last period of my UO career. Give me a shout if you remember me or if we used to kick it, feels weird not having even a single person that I recognize in game lol.

If those names are meaningless to you, then consider this an intro thread (even though I despise those, but some sacrifices must be made I guess).

Until next time.

Welcome back. Some of the names do sound vaguely familiar, though it has been ages so the memories are a bit fuzzed with time.

Welcome home Mr. Gerbik!

Hmm..don't remember you either.
*laughs*

But welcome back to Sosaria sir.
You will find alot has changed since you left.
Peeps hang in Luna now, or New Haven.
Brit is pretty bare.

Be careful of Destard!
There be Greater Dragons about now..they are fierce beasties, and can take you down with one blow if you aren't geared up.
There are elves and gargoyles flitting about now too.
Samaria's and sneaky little ninja's!

If you find the dungeons a bit sparce right now of fellow adventurers, try the Stygian Abyss. The Cavern of the Discarded usually has a few people about at any given time. You will find grand hunting down there. Just go a bit slowly at first.

Don't be afraid to ask about if you have any questions. Most people are helpful. You will always get those few, but for the most part people are willing to help here. Try out the general chat if the pvper's aren't flexing too loudly at the time you are on.

Have fun and Be Safe!

all formality aside (typing wise), i'm kind of glad i haven't encountered anyone who remembers me because i was what some people would consider to be an *******. much less so in my later years, though, and now that i'm back i'd like to check out the current goings on with he community and such. i used to kick it with god of soap, mad lynx, sho'nuff, christoph brock, and darius (this was like around 02-03 though so i'd be willing to bet nobody is around i know period).

as far as the game being so different, it shouldn't be a big problem. i'm thinking about checking out some guilds, are guilds basically the same as they've always been? either just friends banding together with not much actual 'guild event' stuff going on versus the other end of the spectrum aka pvp guilds?

Guilds on Atlantic seem to run the full spectrum from "Just Friends having fun" to "active PVM guilds with regular hunts" to "RP Guilds" to "PVP fun guilds" to "PVP-Gank guilds" to "guilds specifically intended to host events". I am sure there are other guild models out there too.

There were two Orc Clans around for a long time, but I can't say that I have seen either of them in the last year or so... but they may well still be lurking in fel in areas I rarely travel.

I have an Orc myself and I know that there are many still around.

They have changed the polymorph spell to where it is cast on - cast again to turn off so it is much easier to roleplay a non-human/elf/gargoyle now. In addition, there are new items (Big Majik Flippers) that transform you into an elf whenever you are wearing them.
