I don't know about u guys, but personally, I am not a luck one with this event:

1). I log in 20 mins before this event started, things are rather smooth and got gated to Temp of Fire (1st part of the event).

2). The mobs showed up in there but it was sooooo laggy and I have to relog in the game...

3). When I restart the game, then I was forced to do the patching... and it is a huge patch which takes really awhile.

4). When I was finaly able to relog in again, the event is almost at the very end.... In fact, I don't even know how Casca was killed....

I know it is hard to run an in-game event, so I won't complain or comment on that part (including how they do with the rewards). However, I am very disappointed that they are do the patching so late! If u ask me, I suggest all the necessary patching should be done at least like a day before, not in the middle of the event... and I am not the only person who got this problem...

I was so disappointed on the way it was organized (seems more like a technical problem):cursing:. To me, I enjoy the event from Firday (dragons hunt) more than the one on Saturday.
If u are a faction player, u also got the "Battle of Skara Brae" in Felucca as bonus if u were there for the Firday event.

Who really cares what DC gets?

This was supposed to be a shard effort to free Brit from Casca and the SL's. If it is true Casca is dead I didn't even get to witness it.

Enjoy your gems.
Casca wasnt there we dont truly know if he was killed or not. Anyway...why so bitter carebare??

Would someone be so kind as to tell me what the shadowlords are like for combat.

Do they do area damage? Do they all spawn at once, is there massive spawn before them, do they pop out in the middle?

Well see you have to resort to name-calling.

Hope you guild is happy w/ it's pixel crack. I actually wanted to be there to participate in the event. And because of EA Mythic's screw-up got come in blind for the grand finale.

That was totally unacceptable.

After Friday Night's event (that was so much fun), I was really looking forward to the final episode of this event. It was nothing like I thought it would end and I will complain, I was very disappointed by the event.

Congrats to DC for receiving all 3 gems, it is truly amazing, that all 3 gems dropped to your guildmates. And thank goodness your allied Faction guild is COM, so the gems are safe from any remaining evil.

Dont know what your implying by that but the chars who got them just have very high damage output templates and got the armagedon spell of, meaning they where easily top damager on there respective shadowlords.

That huge patch was EA saying Thank you all very much for continuing to allow us to screw u out of all your money for the last several years with no real content update or anything at all for that matter, and us allowing all the crap we do in this game. For that we are gonna screw u out of another $30 for a download or two that will take hrs to get and then it will take us weeks or even months to fix all the crap thats wrong with the new eye candy we are giving you. Yee Haa . bend over and smile. TYVM EA !!!!

It's OK... I don't see it as 'complaining' you were let down. For it being the apex of a two year arc, well... yeah. Underwhelming is a harsh, but fitting, word. No fault of the EMs, because they had an event dictated by UO's uppers, but there was no meat to the event. It was a very standard 'gate, kill, win' scenario. Which is, actually, just what Saturday's event was like.

Again, I don't blame the EM. In fact, the EM storylines and adventures have been far more inventive and creative. I also have to applaud them carrying on when there were some spamming things like 'I WANT A PRIZE' (which also happens at the end of any event, it seems), 'THIS SUCKED' (we get it) and 'DC OWNS ALL!' (and yes, this was happening by a few participants... I get you are excited, but there is really no need to disrupt the end of an event when you are asked repeatedly by an EM to stop).

Was it good enough to stay home and be late for a party I was going to? Honestly, I'm not sure. There have been many other, better events recently. Kudos, however, to those who fought, those who healed (and never get recognition), and even those who found a lil' shard in their backpacks.

I definitely agree with the assessment of the event as under-whelming.

I had fun, though....Personally I'd consider it worth being late to a party just because of how long the storyline's been going on. Galen's spilled gallons of blood over fighting the Shadowlords. To not be there for the climax would have been one of the greatest regrets of my time in UO.

The event definitely does appear to have been centrally-planned, and the EMs indeed seem to have had little to do with the stuff we're reacting negatively to. Thus I agree that it definitely isn't the EMs' fault.

On the up-side, I think we had a couple of nice touches other shards didn't have, so EM Malachi appears to have tried to improve things.

I will contradict you on one thing: The Warriors of Destiny event cycle has been going on for more than 2 years:

http://www.uoguide.com/Warriors_of_Destiny

That article is mostly, but not exclusively, written by me. Draconi's seen it, though, and to my knowledge he hasn't corrected or contradicted anything in it. He has edited a page or two of the UO Guide, so if he wanted to change something he would have. Though the article is non-official, I think we can assume safely that the devs are OK with what's in it.

Given how long this has been going on, a disappointing end was inevitable!

I still think it should've been better than it was. But as I was prepared for great disappointment, I was happy to be merely underwhelmed. OK, happy's overstating it big time. I was glad I was merely underwhelmed.

And I got a few good UO memories out of it. Galen got redlined by the Shadowlord of Falsehood, but managed to get away, dispel the Shadowlord's Revenant, heal up, and come with back with an armor ignore. The event may have been underwhelming, but I was still happy to be there and to have helped to bring this chapter of UO's history to a close.

Now I'm looking forward to future, non-centrally planned EM events. I believe Magnus Gray implied the next few missions would revolve around dismantling the remains of the Casca regime.

Galen I do realize that the EM's are only allowed to do so much, and we are fortunate to have a couple of good ones :). But with the huge buildup for this final event, it was a flop.

Aside from the same sort of problems a few others suffered, crashing, lagging, patching, etc... I've quite enjoyed the EM events I've participated in upon my return to UO in the last few months.

Perhaps not as grand a finale as we might have expected in this latest story arc, but hey, let's look to the future... we are able to make suggestions to the EM's after all.

So before being too critical, perhaps people should take a little time to make some suggestions of their own. After all, the more suggestions, the more ideas for events the EM's will have to play with.
