We are losing the Magincia invasion

As the title says, we are losing the invasion. The town is overrun with daemons, the first houses have collapsed and no-one of you bastards is around to stop it.

Help, damnit!

Or in other words, my homage to one of the very few events that I liked because I could participate in it without a template to end all templates or having a tamer. Granted, I didn´t even know you could blow building up and therefore got no special rubble, but meh. It was fun, even I could kill stuff and got drops. What more could you want?

The idea started after the original invasion on a small tower in my castle.

Then later the main roof of my castle with streets made from mats.

And yes, it took me quite some time to get the 50 statues in the probably final version on an 18x18.
It´s located to the west of Luna in the icefields on the mountain on Origin.

It was a lovely day in Tokyo and Godzirra was happily stomping on things and squishing people as a mysterious gate opened and little red daemons came through the portal. Annoyed by the fact that he wasn´t the only one doing the terrorizing, Godzirra started squishing the little daemons.

Little did he know, that the portal also changed the reality of his world and all he was doing was working the spawn now. Soon, the boss appeared:

Enraged, the giant daemon took flight and an epic battle ensured

Well, to be fair, I did post it in the wrong subsection of the forum. It should go into the homes and castles section. So no wonder it´s none of the normal bickering

And on the subject of original client vs. new one, I did post screenshots from 2D and SA here. Just not KR, cause the deco looks like utter crap there.

Maybe a mod could move the thread to homes and castles?

I just wish they would rebuild it. It was one of my favorite towns in UO, and due to player greed, its gone.

I will admit I'm not an expert on UO lore. Some days I really struggle to try to make sense out of even recent events. However, I've always been under the impression that Magincia was doomed and would have been destroyed one way or another, either by the developers (e.g., how they destroyed Haven) or by players or monsters as part of an event.

What I'd like to understand better is how the destruction of Magincia even ties in with the rest of the events we've had in UO beginning with the ophidian invasion in mid-2006 and running up through the opening of the Stygian Abyss. I am literally confused as heck about how it all ties together. Wish I knew of someone who keeps good track of all this stuff and knows how it ties together and what to make of all the apparent loose ends. I've always enjoyed reading the speculation about what certain events or stories might mean and it seems like people don't do that as much anymore. Did all the loose ends get pulled together and tied up in a nice neat bow and somehow I missed it?? LOL

Well, I don't care what lore is behind it. Magincia was one of the original towns, and I enjoyed going there. I GM'ed my Tailor in Magincia, and spent a lot of time there.

The event was fun for people that wanted to pick up uber rare rubble or whatever...but fun is over. The devs need to put it back and do it again (or not...I don't really give a ****) with a new town.

I suggest Luna...starting with the vendor houses.

I play Origin and have seen this house first hand. It was amazing, really cool. I was a little sad when I swung back to check it out again a little while back and it was gone. Of course, most of Icelyn is now gone too .

Makes me wish I had a much much bigger collection of mini house deeds. I know someone who does though. May just have to give him a nudge to put together something like this and make some creative screen shots. I love the idea of using fire fields to burn up the town.

Whats really amazing is that inside one of those building a tiny Magencian Wizard is recreating the invasion in a table top magical image viewer and sharing it with other wizards all over. The re creation is so accurate that another even tinier wizard is inside that recreation re-creating it again.
