What about a reverse vendor, you put up the price and gold you would spend on say... a barbed kit...
Someone WITH a barbed kit comes by and sees that, puts the item on the vendor and collects to gold of fhte vendor.. I am sure more tweaking would take place, but it might stop the bank spamming.
