Water Deco

After having seen some of my friends houses (and them seeing mine), I am, quite embarrased. My deco (and deco ability) is absolutely terrible.

I can add the souforge, forge, racks for ingots, tapestries, etc. but for the most part, I have a very funtional, but absolutely undecorated building.

i have a gardener, and some of the seeds I was gwoing turned into cattails and lilypads. However, I tried to add them to a stream (moat) I have on front of the keep, but they could not place. Is it possible to add these to the water or am I wasting my time.

I look forward to the day that my friends can come over to my house and tell me it looks nice, and actually mean it. :) (They are nice people and say it look nice, but I know they have better taste than that lol)

Use goza mats and ladders to get above where you want the plants. put the plants up there and then lower them to the water.

You can also go into custom mode, replace the water with regular floor tile, save the changes and put any items you want in the water area there (try a little lily pad with a origami butter fly or a rock with a frog on it). Rocks are great for water features! So are the dolphin tokuno stealables. Or the rubble posts with rope on them. Cattails are good, and other skinny water type plants - I like small palms, they look like plants rising out of the water.

For the rest of your house just do research, book mark ideas you like, save pictures of them, make collages, try to get an idea of what you want. Don't forget to use color, do you want a theme color through out the house or should each room have its own colors? And use plants, lots of plants. The plain variety match anything, and you can stick them in corners, on tables, next to doorways etc. Wall deco is great and keeps thing interesting. Shipwreck paintings, tapestries, heritage torches or just raised lanterns.

Some deco sites I have bookmarked:

uocafeteria: Japanese site so a little tough to navigate, but beautiful pictures and some really inspirational ideas: http://www.interq.or.jp/pure/uocafe/
RainyLain, another Japanese site but again great pictures with english links:
