Was there a mechanic change made to vendors?

A couple of months back I lost vendors I am sure still had money on them, some of them over five mil.
They had been placed at a house I did not own but was friended to. The owner of the house has not been an active player in years, but we keep up on facebook. They stipulated they maintained good billing info with account management, but may have missed making changes with new acct servicing coming through Origin.

I am not missing anything on any characters on my account holding vendors, so I don't think account security was a problem and just was wondering how they might have become vulnerable to decay or what not so I can avoid the problem happening in the future if I decide I want to play that part of the game again. As near as I can tell the house fell in game, and was placed over even though these vendors were monied.

I believe when a house goes idoc now you have a week to do something with the venders once it goes owned by osi...I think There have been other posts on it but thats what I took away

If the house owners account lapsed the house would decay after 90 days, become owned by OSI when it would fall at IDOC stage. Your vendors would go into the sign and you'd have a little time to get your goods and gold. Then the house goes poof. To prevent this check your vendors that are in other peoples houses regularly.

Arrrrr! Also, if their house do start to decay, and the rental contract do come up fer renewal while house is decayin', contract 'twill not be renewed! Even if they reactivate in time to prevent house fall.

I would really wish, a vendor owner had an faster way to see, that a contract is no longer (or not yet) on autorenew.
Could be a different color of menus, a blinking vendor name or a system message like if you pass the door to a condemned house you own.
Anything else but having to dig into the submenu, which usually only is used one time in the lifecycle of a vendor.
