Warning! Codex circle does not redeed

After placing the new 12th anniversary item Codex circle in not the most ideal of locations I tried to redeed it. It does not redeed, but using an axe it gets destroyed one square at a time, and after around 20 such hits you are left with nada.

One would think that such things would be tested beforehand.

Note that this happened on SA floor tiles, it may be different on legacy tiles.

I just re-deeded mine 3times, it went to deed form every time & reset it. Axed on lower se corner

I think the 12th anniversary gifts are not really worth having anyway. The circle is as explained, the UO banner appears to be a copy of an existing UO logo, the silver sapling is nothing like the original and the mail box does exactly the same as a wooden box and looks more Walmart than UO. I don't think they spent that much time and effort on these things.

Axe it in the middle in that little hole in the exact center then it will redeed.

Placed one in me castle tried to redeed from the hole in the centre and the bottem south /east edge now left with holes in it......

Have the same situation. Re-deed not possible, tried several positions to re-deed.

Live in an old-style tower, circle is on the roof.

Err IMHO these are most likely one of the best gifts I have seen in awhile. Usually they just give rehued items and a cake, even the cake is new.

Except the mailbox, as it is suppose to be, anyone can put items in them. Unlike normal boxes, however, only the owner can take stuff out. That is, of course, if the security is set to owner only.

But what did you except for free items? "Super" armor or weapons?

You need to be standing in the middle of the Codex and target one of the circles in order to redeed it.

Will not work if you're not standing on it.

As far as the mailbox, I'm glad that I don't have to friend people to my house in order for them to leave me a message in a book.

Or set my bulletin board to "anyone" and then delete a bunch of "so and so wuz here". To cut down on messages left in my mailbox, I can do what someone in another thread suggested, and just stuff a bag full of somethings to take the space in the mailbox from 125 to 25...or 10...or 5. Can't do that with a bulletin board...

I tried everything everyone has posted now i have a circle with 3 edge missing and 4 tiles from middle ............. i guess this a lost cause cant be bothered with it.

I'll save me other deed till i know its fixed

Anyway, if it doesn't disappear on you tile by tile I see that true to its nature it vanishes when you customize (according to a more recent post).

I have had no issues re-deeding the Codex circle. Probably have done it about 50 times or more trying to get it to land on the right spot. Have redeeded and placed it in a tower, keep, and custom home.

It also, had no problems sliding underneath the body parts from the Halloween event when you could get blown up and pick up the remainders. Looks interesting the 6 part body laying in the center of the circle. For redeeding I was using a hatchet and executioners axe, but I don't think it matters much.

I like the look of the silver sapling. If I am going to be picky, I would have preferred that the one in the pot sat in the center of the tile instead of the back left corner. It makes it look like it is hovering unless you find the right location for it.

The mailbox is kinda big for the small porches on some of the legacy houses. I solved the issue by locking it down on the house sign. It still blocks movement on that tile, but still makes it easy to enter the house and not just have to hit the center of the 3 tile porch.

Kinda cool that when someone drops something off, it tells you who the sender is, and it stays on the item when it is removed from the mailbox.

Yes, the banners are a remake, but the look good flat on the wall or hanging 90 degrees from the wall.

Very nice anniversary gifts I would say.

The codex I placed on Thursday on Origin wouldn't redeed properly. I targeted the center hole, while standing in the middle of the codex. One tile disappeared. So in order to get rid of the now-ruined codex, I had to destroy it one tile at a time.

The only thing I can think of that might have caused the redeeding problem was a bee hive standing to the south of the codex, but not on top of it. The bee swarm was visible over the codex, so perhaps that interfered with the game seeing all the tiles as one connected unit.

I totally agree, and does anyone get the urge to sing "Whip It" when they
see them. Sorry just alittle humor.
I am refraining from placing my Codex till something official is said about
some of these new placing bugs.

I thought I'd try it myself and yes, it just destroys individual tiles. I now have a codex with 4 chunks taken out of it.

This is on a dirt plot with no other customizations, so something is not right with the object.

FYI, tried the center circle, one of the circles, and the SE corner as people mentioned, none of them worked.

Guess I'll just leave it now until they patch it, so no customizing for me!

mmm...I am not fond of the circle, while it looks cool it's like HUGE! Now the mailbox omg, I don't care how big it is. I love that thing!!! The little flag pops up when ya got mail, tags the item who sent it to you, just plain adorable. It is by far my fav gift I've ever gotten from the anniversary gifts.

Actually, I thought the same thing, but in fact it IS different. It allows people to drop things on it (they can't open it if it's set to owner) but they don't have to be friended or have access to the box itself to do so.

... jumping in here but actually yes. My neighbors dropped off a book telling me they liked how my house was decorated and I've always had a public house and bulletin board. Also, you can drop anything in it and it puts your name on the item... I passed out cookies to my neighbors.

Well, the ones with the new slick mailboxes... the neighbors with the ol' bulletin boards get nuttin!

Mine did same thing. House is in Ter Mur and I went to redeed it from the center tile and was left with one tile missing and the rest there, eneded up having to remove it one deed at a time and destroying whole thing

Mine disappeared when i customized. I tried paging GM 4 times got same response. The standard. Report it as a bug. They will not replace items that are lost.

Has anyone tried using an interior dec tool on a codex after it is placed, before you try to redeed it? Addons that get broken up into a collection of single tile objects usually can have the tool used on them. Possibly you can test a codex to see if it is broken before you axe it, if you can move one of the tiles then try to lower them all as far as possible to see if that reforms it (and test by trying to raise a tile again).
