I am basically the type that when I commit to something I go all out. I played for awhile when UP first came out but moved onto EQ. I want to come back but the last time I tried I was about a month into it when I found out that you needed an account to be 1 to 2 years old to be able to get a higher stat cap (like 120 int/str vice 100). Is this still in the game? I don't think I can put the time in just to be owned by someone who's intel or str just by default does more damage then me. Kinda seems as a deterrent for newbies to play if they are told...put some hard work in and in a few years you can be as good as others. I don't care if I can get the veteran house add-ons or special items..but the fundamentals of the game shouldn't be effected by how long you play. Is this rule still in effect?

The only account age stat increase is after 6 months you get an extra 5, so instead of 225 as the base you will now have 230. The natural stat cap is 125 and 150 is the cap with items. The only other age advantage is after 1 year you get the +5 skill increase and for the next 3 years you will get another +5, so in the end you can have 720 skill points naturally instead of 700 for a new account.

No offense but if as a newbie(your own words)you think the only reason you will get owned is the base difference of a couple of stat points/skill points you are much mistaken.

Sounds like your real issue is with seniority in general :(

There was no rule limiting someones stats to 100. There is a total stat cap on 225 when you character is first 'born'. If your account is 6 months old, you get the cap increased to 230. And to increase it further, you must obtain a Stat Scroll from a Harrower.

But the hard cap to individual stats has always been 125 since around publish 16 wasnt it? Or maybe AoS? I cant remember now.
