Wait 14 days to use a new account for housing

Is there a way around this?

A plot opened up nearby that my wife wants badly. I created a new account for her and renounced young, but the account is apparently 'a trial' even though I have provided billing info.

Advice?

I have already paid for the account, which is why I would like to place the plot.

In 14 days the plot will likely be taken, hence my queries. I don't understand what exploits may have been taking place with the trial accounts, nor do I care. This is simply a legitimate player trying to open another account for the purpose of housing.

Seems an oversight that legit players are shafted.

this was part of the anti, script blah.................. stopper

in truth, it was designed to stop good idoc players who bought acct codes to place and drag onto plots, sadly it also stopped new players from placing and gathering enough plots to place castle etc

the knock on effect, is you cannot place for 14 days, unless it is a new acct code you bought, or one that came with the game when new

so you cannot place there, all oyu can do is ask here if anyone is willing to place and hold for you, whereever you are

if this is the case you will need to go onto the uo store website and buy a mondians legacy acct code, not a trial acct and you "should" be able to place straight away

Do you have any 30 day free account codes? You can place right away on those. The 7th annv boxes had 7 account codes with them, and then there was the SE, ML, 8th and whatever other boxes, they all had free 30 day account codes. If you don't have any pm me i have a ton, and would be willing to give one away.

All you have to do is go buy an "Ultima Online™: Mondain’s Legacy Upgrade" code at http://uogamecodes.com and upgrade your trial account. Along with upgrading the trial account to a full ML account, the account will also stop being a trial account and become a full-fledged account.

Upgrading the trial account is done through the web interface, correct? Meaning not in game, but at uo.com or whatever the domain is.

It rejects the upgrade code and it also is rejecting an attempt to make yet another account with the extra code that came with the ML code. Gee.

I am not sure how EA has managed to obfuscate the process of customers giving them money so effectively.

Site has timed out twice also for no legitimate reason (application failure presumably).

I will keep trying.

Oh and good luck to you. Although I've had more good than bad problems with customer service meself, a lot of folks that post in these forums claim they have so, my best of luck to you.

With regard to placement restrictions, I believe the last publish or the one before that severely limited trial accounts (both the 14-day which you can get through use of the KR client download or the 15-day code you get from the uo registration website). This was done after much suggestions by the uo player base in order to curtail and cut down on exploits and scripters of the game. There are no work arounds for these types of trial accounts.

Now for the bad news, I had a similar situation approximately 2-3 months ago (maybe more). I used a new account code from my 9th Anniversary box. I purchased the box several years ago. I wanted to place a house on another shard from the one I normally play. I had no problems using the code.

Everything went smoothly until on the 16th day when I went to place a house I couldn't. After posting here, and emailing CS, I was told that they have some kind of formula the game engine uses before allowing house placement. I never understood how it worked and rather than pressing the issue, I decided to just wait it out instead. Even then, I still could not place a house. My GM did it for me. So I don't really know if house placement is or isn't working as it should at this point in time.

Personally, I think there is a bug affecting new account house placement as I was not able to actually place my house until a few days after my new account turned a month old (at that point it was approx. a month and 3 days old or something odd like that).

When my GM found out about my dilemma, He placed a house for me in the spot I wanted, and then transferred it to me, no problem. Although Ive reported this incident as a bug, I haven't heard anything ever since so I'm not sure if it were "fixed" or not.

Its astonishing isnt it. A company that is laying off staff because of financial losses and we cant give them our money.

Ive been trying to buy a character transfer code and the UOGamecodes website wont let me. It says that the address on my credit card is wrong which is just BS. Heres me trying to give EA my money and cant, so I go elsewhere and buy the code (cheaper as it turns out).

If this is how EA operates is it any wonder that they are having financial problems?

The best and fastest solution is probably to ask a trusted friend with a spare account to place and hold it for you. Then when your account is old enough, or you get some luck with EA, you can get the house transferred to your wife's account.

If you have paid with a credit card, cancel it and then re-subscribe once again. Then you can build your house.

If you have paid with a game time code, I don't know what to do.

Sorry, after I posted, I noticed that this is the same as that you subscribe another account afresh, therefore not so useful.
