Hail and well met, fellow citizens! Voting is underway across Britannia, and I'd like to thank everyone who has visited my campaign headquarters and/or spoken with me, as well as the EM team and Ozog for allowing me to speak briefly at both the official and unofficial Houses of Commons. And of course, a HUGE thank you to everyone who voted for me!

For those of you still on the fence, know that I am a lifelong citizen of Vesper. I started my journey in Britannia in front of Vesper's Ironwood Inn back in 1998, and through I've never been fortunate enough to have my house in Vesper, it has always been and will always be my home. Years ago I defended Vesper from invading trolls and more recently I quelled rioters and protesters. My children's combat training began right there in the Vesper graveyard.

It saddens me to see the mostly empty streets of Vesper today. The town I love was never as busy as Britain or Luna, but it was once a bustling and lively town. I'd like to see it that way again, and I have a plan for helping make that happen. Please see my full platform here.

But I can't do it alone. I need your support and your vote. Together we can make Vesper great again--as it should be.

I have written up a short biography and have received several compliments on it, so I am including it here at the end for your perusal. You may also read it ingame on my desk in my campaign headquarters or get a free copy from the vendor there.

Thank you all again, and I hope you join me for a better tomorrow in Vesper!

All Roads Lead to Vesper: My Life Story

by Ivy Covedweller

I regret to say that my origin is as much a mystery to me as to you. I awoke alone, with but the clothes on my back, a flimsy sword in my hand, and a paltry one hundred gold pieces in my pocket. It was as if I had appeared out of nowhere, with no memory of a life before, in front of Vesper's Ironwood Inn.

I was weak and disoriented--easy prey for the many murderers and scoundrels who populated the realm in those days. And prey upon me they did. I could scarcely set foot outside of town without being set upon by brigands and bandits. I eked out a meager existence and tried to improve my skills by hunting local wildlife and occasionally braving the graveyard. It was a rough-and-tumble world then, and I have to admit that I didn't fare very well in it.

At least, not until I met Victor. Like me, he had begun his journey in Vesper, but he had been far more successful than I. A tall, striking man with dark skin and light hair, he was the solution to both my lack of success and my loneliness.

Victor taught me the ways of the sword, and although I never managed to equal his skill I became far better able to handle myself in a fight. I gained the confidence to venture further out of Vesper, and with greater risk came greater rewards. To be certain, I suffered many setbacks, but with Victor by my side I began to find my place in the world.

We found a secluded spot in the woods between Vesper and Cove not far from the Cove graveyard and built a modest small stone house. We lived there until the world split into two facets, then left old Felucca and rebuilt our home in the same spot in the new land, upgrading to a log cabin. We needed the increased space and relative safety of the new world as we now had two young children to care for! Our eldest, brash and bold Elaine, followed in her parents' footsteps and took up swordsmanship. Our second child, quiet and scholarly Willow, surprised us with her talent for the magical arts and studied magery and inscription.

I was carrying our third child when the unthinkable happened. Victor was killed, destroyed so completely that no healer magic could return him to me. Shortly thereafter I gave birth to our first and only son. I named him Victor II after his father, and although he never knew him he took after him in both appearance and aptitude.

Alone with three children to care for, I fell into a depression even as my children grew up strong and brave. While Elaine became an accomplished fighter and even ran a guild for a while, Willow continued her magical studies, and Victor II learned swordsmanship from Elaine, I could not even bring myself to pick up my sword. My grief over the loss of my love was too great, and as he'd taught me all I knew of combat and always fought by my side, I couldn't bear to resume my fighting career without him.

Eventually my children didn't need me anymore, and I hadn't the will to resume my previous livelihood. Although I thought I was successfully hiding my despair, Willow sensed my increasing despondency and took it upon herself to try to pull me out of it. She acquired a pet for me, a little street cat called Bo that she found in Britain, to keep me company when she and her siblings weren't around. I found that an animal companion was a great comfort to me.

Willow had become a very powerful mage, and she believed that if she could do it then so could I. I was quite skeptical at first, but at her insistence she taught me a greater mastery over the arcane arts than I would ever have thought myself capable of. I knew, however, that magery was not my calling. My companionship with my cat had given me the idea to take up animal taming. I spent countless hours practicing taming, building a rapport with animals that would allow me to work with more and more difficult creatures.

The land of Malas was discovered, and my children and I left the Vesper/Cove area to place two enormous houses right next to each other in the new land. I continued to work on my taming skill and eventually won the trust of nothing less than a beautiful red dragon! He became my new fighting companion, and we traveled throughout the lands together.

Time passed. The lands of Tokuno and Ter Mur were discovered and new and exciting challenges arose. My children and I ended up outside of the lovely Tokuno city of Zento, in a house just outside the west exit of the city where we reside to this day.

However, my heart always remained in Vesper. When it became possible to publicly declare one's city loyalty, I immediately declared myself a Vesper citizen. I helped round up rioters and appease protestors in the city, and the Minister of Trade knows me by name. I still conduct most of my banking and shopping in Vesper as well. My house may be in Zento, but my home is always Vesper.

I remember fondly the days when Vesper was a lively and bustling town, and it saddens me to walk the mostly empty streets today. If I am elected governor, I will work hard to bring life back to the city I love. I have several ideas for bringing more activity back to Vesper, which you may read about in my platform proposal. I would love to hear from my fellow citizens as well. Vesper is a great city and it would be an honor and a privilege to serve as its first governor. Thank you for you time, and safe travels to you.
