We are happy to release the first installment of our new video series called Taming Tips. These videos will each showcase something aimed at helping Tamers become more confident in their abilities. While these are aimed at New and Returning Tamers, experienced tamers may find them useful as well.

We are providing these videos as an alternative resource for those that may learn better through visual learning or otherwise have trouble following along in a written guide.

Great video. I would just add. After you tame the first one. Mount it and tame another while you are there.

If you want to tame up to 5 at a time. Clear an area to place them when tamed. Tell them to stay and invis them while you tame another. Bring the next tame to the area and do the same. When done. Call them all and all stay. Invis them again and you will have time to run out of the mines, recall to a safe spot and log off and on. Or Spam all follow and if they don't get stuck at a corner you can run them all out of the mines and gate when outside.

Works for any 1 or 2 slot pet. You can invis a 2 slot Naj or Crimson/plat drake while you find another.

Yea I contemplated showing that you could get up to 5 Beetles at once, but I decided to leave it out to keep the video more simple. If you need to get 5 beetles at once, you probably don't need to watch a video on how to tame one~

I may do a video specifically on getting freshly tamed pets out of hostile no-recall/no-gate areas.

I would recommend a dragon slayer spellbook they are usually pretty easy to find and in some cases cheaper then the scrappers. Hiryu are classified as dragons so ur spells do a lot more damage with the slayer.

Nice video. You are a lot better at killing things with spells than I am.

I take a frost mite and let it follow me around or a Cu and kill the Hiryus. When I find one I want I put the pet away and come back to tame.

This one will show you how to easily train resisting spells on your pet.

Before anyone mentions it, I intentionally did not include boats in the video on purpose. (For the same reason I did not include anything about the house in Old Haven on some shards.)

Taming Tips - Training a 1-Slot Pet at Crazed Mage

This video showcases an easy way to level 1-Slot and other low-stat pets at the Crazed Mage. This utilizes the poison field method that a lot of people may not be familiar with.

The tamer in the video has fairly basic gear and does not use consume at all. The pet leveled is a 1-slot non-bonded Fire Beetle.

There may or may not be a Goblin cameo towards the end of the video...

After giving them 50 minutes and asking what % their pet is with no answer.

I like the video, but do you want these methods nerfed? Because this is how you get them nerfed. Just wait for Mervin to declare a Shadow Ele trick a game breaking exploit and start a letter writing campaign.

Considering all of these methods have been posted more times than i can count in this forum (which the devs read btw), including in the the Taming A-Z thread... I'm not sure what your perceived issue is.

The issue is that they may ignore something they do not consider widespread. You are contributing to it being widespread.

The old school tamers on LS dig up a shadow ele just inside the Mines. Not sure where that came from but it makes it nice if one is there that matches what you need. And I found out that dark colors at the beginning of that last video in EC really give me a headache fast. So I had to quickly FF thru it.

And Shadow eles have to match the pets skills so it is more than just equipping a poison weapon and hitting a Wolf Spider in Luna. You cant take the Ele to Luna or your house.

Peeps been skilling pets on Shadow Iron Elementals for ages... literally since before my last long break around 2007. My old guild would dig up a few and then the tamers would skill back the points lost from PVP battles that evening. Pets take damage and need attention. If someone exploits it in someway by afking, etc, shouldn't penalize the masses doing it the right way. Which, since it has not been hit with the nerf bat by now, I wouldn't look for it anytime soon.... Just my $.02
