Ok, as you all may know...I am a thief by trade, but am currently looking at adding taming to my template on Siege. The primary purpose for this is to play a thug thief. I'm not sure what pets I'll be using, but my question is in regards to the vet skill.

What are the differences in damage healed and other things I may not be thinking of between...

80-90 Vet
90-100 Vet
80-100 Vet

I just don't want to waste skill points since my template will be used to kill my marks after I steal from them?...la

Unless your marks are mindless NPCs, vet is not going to really help you much Rico.

Most players do not stand there and try to tank against pets as long as the tamer is still alive. That's pretty much suicide.

If you do add the vet skill, and want to stick around and vet your pets, you will want at least 60, otherwise you can't cure poison with it.

I am not sure the formulas for actual hard numbers of damaged healed...perhaps someone else could answer that.

How about to rez a pet? What is the minimum for that? And at the minimum, what % chance is there to rez on the first try? I'm thinking 80 will be where I take it to.

I've already taken it up to 61 from zero, when I started it this afternoon. LOL, only 9 more points and I'll have it in RoT...\0/ ...la

Sweet.

Looks like I'll be using 70 vet, and if I want to rez, I'll just use a +10 vet jewel.

Now, I have an extra 5 points for my current template idea with 70 vet. Do I put Lore or Taming up to 105?

From 100-105 taming...what extra beasty can I control?...la

Raise taming, it'll help you to tame the beast faster and I'm sure it's still more heavily weighted in working out control, than lore is.

I think greater hiryu would come into your sights with 105, you're ok at GM level for beasts like kitsune, mares and runeys. That said, you might want to try out some kitsune on test or something, because if you're tight on skill points, 2 kits would allow you to remain mounted, and they're fast and pretty deadly in PvP. You wouldn't need more than 85 taming for control of those babies. Maybe something worth trying out when you hit 85.

Wenchkin is dead on.

Kitsune and Dread Mare or Kitsune and Rune Beetle are the best PvP pet combos IMO.

I have killed more people with my Rune/Kit combo than I ever will with my GD.

The GD is slow, whereas the Rune/Kit are fast casters, and the Rune poisons almost always on the first attack for me. Mine has 125.5 poisoning, and loves to use it! Most players panic and try to run, which is usually the death of them. If they would take the second to cure, they would probably survive the first assault, which is really all the pets are good for.

Then again, if they don't run, I FS them and they die anyway ;)

You can also add 10 points to Vet with enhanced bandages...for Vet only not Rez.

60 vet is plenty. Why use 1 +10 jewel when you could use 2 (ring & bracelot)? Just keep jewels in a handy place if your pets die.
