Vesper was overrun this day by Dragons. Dragons with vengeance in their hearts. Their hate, they focused on our good town. Alone the small contingent from Vesper's Vanguard, and the small handful of citizens, had little hope of turning the tide. The dragons would have prevailed, and Vesper most likely lost.
However, as word went out across the land, townsfolk from other towns arrived. Armed with sword, axe, or even hoe, they came to our aid. Those that were skilled with the ability to tame were especially welcome. They brought their own dragons, and it was well they did.
The battle was vicious, many perished on both sides. However, many good priests arrived. Those that could be, were renewed when they fell. Luckily the same could not be said for the raiding dragons, and one by one they fell to the strong defenses put forth by the unified strength of the righteous.
The battle was won, and the thanks of he townsfolk of Vesper are presented to those that heeded our call. When aid is needed, ask and you will receive. We also will heed the call to arms. Wherever it may arise.
