Vesper Community Collection Quest

So after many years of not doing it....I decided to work on getting something from the Vesper Community Collection turn in's. I went out and chopped some wood, got alot more from vendors and people at the bank. Took me about a week to get enough boards (mostly plain and oak) to get myself a shield. Cost me around 3 mil and about 10 hours of chopping. Which is fine, it should be hard to get the better items.

Then I started turning the stuff in to the collection chest, so far I've been at it about 5 hours. I have 520,000 points and one of the worst headaches ever.

Why in gods name cant we just use deeds to turn this stuff in? Or have the option to take it right out of our bank box? If it's scripters that worry you, then dont worry, they will get theirs anyhow. So please give us a break and fix this.

I swear that I will never do another one of these again, ONCE is more then enough.

I bought 150,000 hinges to turn in, and it took hours longer to turn them in than to travel to all the tinker shops and buy them. In some ways by making the collections harder on scripters, they made them really really problematic for living breathing players.

I'd also like to have this system...changed? fixed? repaired? Whatever. Being "Collection" quests, you would think collecting would be all the work. It isn't. The "turn in" is I'd say 90% of the quest time, 10% would be the choping/mining all the resources.

You've just proven that they're an effective gold sink

(but I agree that commodity deeds would be nice too)

They really aren't an effective gold sink. Unless you want one of the strange items (which I did), you can usually find it for less gold on some scripter's vendor which doesn't sink the gold but keeps it floating around.

I agree, next time I will just buy it from someone. Doing this was the worst thing I ever did in UO. It was even worst then the first time I walked out of a guard zone or when the server when down while I was in deciet with my brand new silver vanq katana.

I dont think so, 200 would drive me insane. 20,000....forget about it.

there is a way to unload everything at once, I forgot how I did it but I was turning in wood also at brit and I dragged around 60k boards to the trade in dude and upon my last drag I clicked the wood on a further away tile so it hung over mouse curser without having to hold the button and I cant remember what I did exactly due to how long ago it was but w/e i did it dropped the wood and put it all in my pack and I was like 60k boards over weight so couldnt move lol and clicked the guy and traded 60000 boards and it worked

not an exploit as such more of a bug but someone could try and fiddle with that and work out what I cant remember :/

but yea, deeds would be awesome idea. along with being able to pay an npc for a pet res ^^

I hate the system and I have also been on the receiving end of a serious headache from putting in long hours donating in both the Museum and the Library...it's just not fun.

With that being said if they do allow for bulk turn in I guarantee everyone that Vesper/Britain Items will be about as rare as ML arties.

The best suggestion and it wasn't mine..what to set it up like Spring Clean Up. That would pretty much make it easy as can be but again the value and worth of the items not just monetarily but novelty will plummet.

Ya the scripters beat that dead horse to a pulp before they randomized the locations production. It the whole worth-time-effort. And I whole heartly say of the three the Zoo got screwed the most. Worse is the Zoo rewards are all compared to the Library or Museum. And for someone to sell a set of the zoo statues for 8 mil knowing the time it takes to get those points............they would of made more farming centuars for gold/arrows/spine.

The Frost and Valorite turn ins was the perfect trap to clean up the game of scripters and they dropped the ball. Even the snatch and ban, on and off, of the running dillweeds would of got rid of load BS that came up. Besides knowing where every frost and val location was they may have had a clue what NPCs sold bucklers also.
