Vendor completely erased for No reason...(Jeremy EA help?)

Today I logged onto my account and went to go retrieve some gold from my atlantic vendor at Genesis Archives in Luna..

Mind you nothing was being sold on this vendor besides gloves of the pugilist and a serverbirth cloth and a jackals collar ... There was 1.8 billion gold being held on the vendor from various rares dealings that ive done with atlantic people and gold ive bought..

Around 5am the Gold turns to a red - 1.8 billions # on the vendor and is unretreivable and the vendor in 45 minutes before server down just randomly dissapears.. Ive contacted several Times to the EA support but I get NO help whatsoever..

Can someone on the boards please explain why this or something of this nature would happen?

It has never been the use of anything duped or scripted... and I cant for the life of me get an answer!!

It sounds like someone bought an item, then your vendor ended up with too much gold and rolled over to a negative number, then when it came time to pay the fee the vendor had no more money and walked off the job.

Also it sounds like you were trying to avoid vendor fees. In a sense the vendor took what he was owed.

I was paying the fees both either by gold in the bank or gold on the vendor

I was being told that over 2 billion gold makes the vendor turn into a - num and get erased..

So you were using the vendor as a gold storage facility for 1800 1mil checks, and got burned by breaking the rules instead of using storage in your bank boxes and house for it.

I hope you learned your lesson from this. Sucks to lose that much gold, but then you should have known better than to use a vendor to store it.

I bet u thousands of people are using this method as a storage for gold... Since when is it illegal to store gold on a vendor?

I just wish I could get a Gm to help me or an answer from Anyone @ EA.. ive been up for 8 hrs trying to get someone to respond anywhere!

Vendors are not intended to be used as banks. Be sure to collect your gold regularly and deposit it into your bank box.

I dont think youll find any sympathy here though. And I dont think EA will do anything. Ive had vendor issues before, nothing to this scale and I just had to suck it up. Some my error, others glitches.

I just had 1.7 billion on the vendor. Its gone. Please replace it.

For every legit issue like yours, someone would be scamming a loss.

I don tthink you understand .. I was attempting to take the Gold OFF the vendor i simply used it to sell the items I was selling.. by 100 mill deposits..

I sold goods to treyster and another player tails for that denomenator Total..

I went to retrieve the gold off the vendor to my bank but it turned to a RED - balance and would not allow me to retrieve it.. ALL in a 45 minutes period as I was doing the dealings..

There is NO other safe 100% verified way to do such large demominations with players.. You cant tell me you dont use a vendor to sell items that cost more than 100m?

On another subject, it is a nice illustration that the game was not intended to field such massive amounts of gold. The vending &amp; banking systems have not kept up with the insane amount of gold that is actually in the game.

Last nite the VEndor turned into a - 2 billion gold balance I think thats a problem..

A friend of mine LEO mentioned that this has happned to a friend of his in the past when over 2 billion is on a vendor that it wont recognize the amount and go into a negative balance and erase the vendor..

its @ the genesis archive vendor mall, right outside east luna gate.. The vendor did not go into the house sign nor did it show up to the house owner.. It just Vanished completely and woudlnt let me retrieve gold or anything..

Your not reading what im typing are u... The minute hte gold Hit 1.8 b illino or 2 billion or whatever the final amount was I coudlnt retrieve ANYTHING off it .. it turned into a red # and woudlnt allow me to retrieve gold..

I can personally verify the credibility of the OP. I have had dealings with him personally and was always 110% satisfied.

I used to use my vendor as a gold storage so all my accounts money was in one place so ALL of the chars on that account could access it easily, kinda like an account ATM machine *laughs* Never had THAT much on it though.

Why would you be doing a major trade right before server downtime, especially one that involves hundreds of millions of gold and many items? It doesn't add up unless you were dealing with someone from Asia.

Got what you deserve, you shouldn't be fencing duped items in the first place in order to get 2 billion gold by flooding the market with duped items.

There's a term called Karma, you should become familiar with it, since it will become a trend.

I guess we know what data type vendors use for gold storage.

I realize it stinks to have 2 billion just go poof (or actually overflow and become a negative number), but you have to admit it was rather foolish to store 2 billion gold on a vendor.

If you don't have the lockdowns, you could always spend a bunch of it to convert the gold into items.

EA's policy is that they don't refund lost items regardless of how they are lost. It stinks that yours were lost to a bug, but EA didn't refund me my pet, which was priceless to me when an event bug deleted it. Why should they refund your gold?

seems alot of you dont know much about collecting and rares dealings... if your a broker and have lots of people that want you to sell stuff for THEM.... and all them people happen to be rares collectors... with alot of items worth alot of gold...... i could see it easy for him to have that much or more... and yes what he said, deals happen whenever they can, usually the quicker the better.. sucks to hear this... just sounds like another ea screw up to me, ive had good friends leav uo cause their "stystem" let a luna home owner trade his house and watch the vendors drop... with lots of gold.... reasons like this people quit the game!

Though I do agree that vendors need to be limited (e.g. like before where you could only take items/gold from a vendor with 1 char), I do not think it's in any way justified to take away 1.8b just because someone violated a rule so completely insignificant to the no duping rule, it's just funny.
Now there is no sign of GM involvement at this point, but it is a terrible bug. 1.8b is A LOT of gold for anyone. Even a big broker like Ultima83 here.

The last thing GMs need to be doing at the moment is checking vendors to see if there's too much gold on there. Especially since there are no clear rules.

The "trustworthy vendor" label applied to Viktor Bout as well, he was reliable on his weapons trades to militants, and thankfully, we in the real world don't work off the same reasoning people seem to work off of in game.
