The first day the Vanguard Controllers spawned in Cove, I was able to lead one of them away from Cove through the woods, all the while hitting it with arrows. I was doing little damage with each hit, but was picking away at it. The Vanguard spawn complicated matters of course. My wife joined me, casting EV’s, while I continued slinging arrows. After some time we finally dropped the Vanguard Controller and looted it’s shield and sword. It was challenging and fun. In fact the most fun we had had fighting creatures in quite some time. We went back a few days later, hoping to draw another Controller out into the woods , and recapture the fun we had had days earlier……….but, of course, we found that the Controllers could no longer be led away. We joined in the fray with all the other players and were able to get a couple more shields, however it was just not as much fun as that first day.

Today on Pacific, by myself again, I stumbled upon a Vanguard spawn in Delucia. I’d hoped I would be able to draw the Vanguard Controller off into the wilderness, but to no avail. Disappointed , I logged out.

My wife and I had been waiting for the spawn to move to other cities in hopes that we would once again be able to lure the Controllers off, and deal with them in our own way. Not happening. So now we wait for the scenario to progress to another stage. A long wait I think.

Oh well, too much fun and adventure would probably compel us too spend too much time online.

I was fighting one in Papua on Pacific and I couldn't kill it. I kept getting it down to a sliver of life and it'd run and heal and heal and heal. I couldn't do enough damage, average 40 pts or so do keep it from healing. I even was bleeding and mortaling it and it always managed to heal before a death blow.
