Using a gift card at the Origin store

Hi, I'm about to get a gift card (for EA games) and I thought I had read someone say they could use it at the Origin store to buy UO stuffs, so my question is has anyone ever done that and what was your experience with it? (I'm talking about the 20 dollar gift cards you can pick up at places like Target & such) I can always use my card on Pogo instead, but would rather use it to get some UO shinies if I can

Were you able to pay for things like Captains Bundle and such?
What happened if your gift card didn't cover the entire price of the item?
Any other troubles with it?

Yes - I have used a $20 EA card for purchasing from the Origin store.
I don't remember what I bought, but the gift card did work for me as a partial payment.

I think your forced to use the balance funds first (the $20 from the gift card).
My memory is that my purchase was multiple items totaling over $20 and I did pay the remainder of the balance with a Credit Card.

No trouble that I remember - the only 'bad' thing could be that nothing costs exactly $20,
so you're forced to be left with a balance -or- needing to cough up more funds via CC (if your purchase is over the $20).

when you check out there's an option to "Click here to redeem an EA Cash Card", and enter the gift card code.

I use the $20 EA game cards exclusively to purchase the 6 month time codes from UO store. Since for some miraculous reason there is no state or sales tax on this, I pay $60 for 3 cards, then register them at the UO store for my purchase. Sixty bucks straight up. Oh BTW I'm in CA, get my EA game cards at Toys 'R us:]
