Upgrade old account

I have an old account, of about 5 years. I'd like to reopen it but it's only stopped at Felucca and Trammel. It has no upgrade (TS2). If i chose the seventh slot with a more storage is it an upgrade? Or i have before to upgrade to ML and then to the seventh slot?

ML has nothing to do with 7th slot. If I remember correctly, 6th char slot was part of the deal.
So yes, you will need a ML or 9th Anniversary upgrade code.
