So, big publish in the works, and our Anniversary, hopefully to coincide with a Return to Britannia, right around the corner. It got me to thinking about opportunities.

I have not seen a word about any new promotional items at the store, and yes, I get it that there are problems there.

But I was thinking. If, if mind you, we don't have any new collection or "what have you" set for introduction during that time frame, how about some limited time bundles of existing items "on sale"?

SA coupled with high seas?

Gothic, rustic, and Kings Collection packs all grouped on one ticket and discounted?

Not a lot. Maybe twenty to thirty percent? Just enough to generate some interest and maybe help folks decide to stick around long enough to explore the content they just purchased.

The system for distribution of these items is already there. Of they sold them for $1 each they would still be making money. Although, it makes no sense to do that from a business perspective. They will continue to sell items at the same price because people are paying.

Anyone remember when advanced character first came out and you had to call customer service and talk to a representative?

Not only should they run a sale on Origin during RTB, they need to give EVERY account access to SA and High Seas content during that time.

Kind of a waste to try luring people back without giving them access to the massive amount of content that might encourage them to stick around.

Give people a chance to see what they're missing.

They really wouldn't lose money on a sale, it's all stuff that's already coded and available and has been for a long time. They'd possibly make a comparable amount or even more due to more people being more willing to buy the things at lower prices.

This does call into question the possibility that there is a finite amount of money I can spend on this game withing risking my wife filing for divorce. It also causes me to wonder just how close I might be to that number, whatever it might be.

You are talking a long term pricing strategy that is based on market interaction. I was talking along the lines of a stimulus. And toward that I really don't think everything has to be on sale, notably the forging tools for enhancement. I'd give them a small discount closer to the holiday season. But then I'd let that one run for a while, say Thanksgiving to New Year.

My 2 cents:

They should do a big sale. Do like they did for the Sims3 after announcing the release of Sims4. They had various expansions, worlds and stuff packs on sale for half price. I know they made plenty of money, heck EA even gave away a stuff pack! Do it like the Sims and it will make money.
