Returning to the game and I have no idea how to set up some macros for my mage. Could you post some macros that you use and any advice you have for me as a new mage? Specific details about how long to pause etc. would be excellent.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what specifically you would like to know, but you can really setup any spell macro and or combo in uo assist.

The key really is how you record it and then the delay you want to have. It really all depends on your own connection and how well uo assist is running. i.e. does it ever lock up or lag ever?

Personally most things I put a 2 second delay (2000ms). It just all really depends what you are attempting to do or trying to achieve.

You can also do things like range check last target which will tell you if the last target you had is out of range of your casting ability.

Anyways, I gave you an idea as far as timing. I can't say exactly since my connection varies from yours. The main idea is to set your combos up in a fashion so that they chain so to speak.

This will involve tweaking your delays to the point where you won't get the annoying: "Waiting for response from Server" message when you look on your uo assist tab.

all spell macros should be UO macros. Spells should all be close to each other. Group spells that are used together. I.E - Heal/Cure.

UOAssist for potions, bolas, mount, de-mount.

Your target self/last target should be through UOAssist as well. I recommend mouse wheel up/down for those two.

Why do you recommend this? I have all of my spell macro's done in UOAssist. What's the benefit?

So you leave space for more complicated macros like mounting/dismounting/bola/etc. You only get so many macros in UOA so you might as well make them useful. With spell queue and the scroll wheel, you really don't need to set spell macros in UOA. I do keep my heal spells on UOA though with target self, but I do it more out of habit than necessity.

I find uoassit to lag slightly for macros especially when im in a rush and pump the macro I get macro stoped before its complete. The only macro I sue on uoassist is vetting since up istelf doesnt have one properly. And even then if i hit the macro once too many i have to hit it a 3rd time to get it to work. UO macros dont have that problem. Thats the main reasons i use uo macros for spells and speicals

I do it more for PvP purposes. I want to hold spells. The only reason for using UOA for those macros would be to auto-target for you. Timing is important for PvP.

Also, like another poster mentioned, if you hit a UOA macro key more than once before the initial macro is completed you have to hit it again. It also causes issues if your spell is disrupted.
