UO should be Free to Play

Because:

- New games have much better graphics
- there is no story line, rhyme or reason
- The virtue system that was supposed to be the cornerstone of UO, vanished
- ...

My accounts are inactive due to all this migration mess.

We have info that the houses are safe, yet, a few days ago a castle was falling right next to my castle...

It is sad to be here since UO started in 97 and watch all this:
- duping, selling, resource scripting, cheating...
- batch after batch of programmers coming to UO to learn the basic and then moving on to "better" games...
- a Dev team that cares... yet is working on a game so messed up that each update creates a new problem...


So my question is... since we're all playing a Beta Game since 1997, maybe it should be free to play?

I'd like to see EA try an experiment and reduce the cost to say $7.99/month.

I'd be interested to see how many veteran players would return and keep open accounts for only $8/mo?

They would really need to advertise the hell out of the subscription reduction though.

Seems we got a new subject, lol.

While I think F2P would be interesting, it might also be costing us about the same to play. F2P is never free, unless you don't mind playing a game with a ton of restrictions. A F2P game with a ton of players is meaningless unless they can get some money coming in. F2P means that for the company to keep getting money they need to find something to sell, be it fees to place houses, to enter certain facets, riding a horse, gaining skill past a certain level, etc. Or, god forbid, ads appearing while we play the game. I don't think they would even consider F2P unless it's the last resort.

It can technically be free to play if you buy game time for gold that you collect for free in game

There is no such thing as free to play, most people playing so called 'free to play' games end up paying far more than we currently do.
Nor are commercial decisions based on requests from minority groups on forums.
