UO on a Tablet?

I am thinking about buying a tablet, but I would like one that will allow me to install UO. Have any of you guys been able to successfully install and run UO on a tablet without needing to jailbreak it? If so, what tablet do you recommend?

I asked this over in the Tech forum but got no response so I thought I would check with the larger audience here in UHall.

If it's a windows tablet it should work fine.

That's what I thought but I read somewhere that even the Windows Surface only allows you to install programs from their version of an App Store. I was hoping someone here might have actually tried (and succeeded) with doing this.

RT surface, no. Windows 8 surface "pro", yes. The surface pro is basically just an ultrabook, so you can run anything on it that you can run on a regular computer with similar specs. Of course the pro costs twice as much, though I'm sure there are other full windows tabs that are better priced.

Just be sure to get a full windows rather than an RT windows tablet and you should be able to run UO.

I see no reason to own a tablet if you own a good size phone like a note 2 or galaxy s4

My daughter just got a new phone she wanted to get the Galaxy s4 till she saw it... Then she was like "LOL mom! Could you imagine talking on that thing????? LOL it'd be like the old time first cell phones HUGE LOL..... that'd look so stupid!"...... so she went with a much smaller phone.... Still larger than mine but still looks somewhat silly.

Yes I have a note 2 as well and love it! It's a little big in your pocket but the display is huge.

I got one for drawing, and as a second screen when using my laptop. I also used to have job where I could watch movies while I worked, so it was nicer to have a 10 inch screen as opposed to a phone.

The drawing aspect didnt really work out so hot though. I do plan on getting a tablet/pc sometime that would actually function in that regard.

Why run UO on a tablet? Seems like it would be really difficult to operate with the touch screen.

UO will run on any full version of windows 8. I run uo on a Samsung ATIV 500t Smart PC. It works great for buying stuff on the go, but for pvp its no good.

Thanks for all the input everyone.

For those who asked, the goal is not to play UO solely on the tablet, but to be able to play UO on the tablet when needed. There are several situations in my everyday routine where a laptop is not practical but a tablet would be. There are other reasons I would like a tablet, I just also want it to have the ability to install UO in addition to those other purposes. I know most tablet's could handle UO, but not all of them will let you install real programs. I will have to look into the Windows 8 surface "pro" recommended above. Thanks again for the input.

I assumed he would be using peripherals. It would be pretty close to impossible to play UO with only touch.

Well they have that one tablet that clicks to a keyboard, s4 would be weird not even touching the screen
