I wonder if there is a site covering the mathematics of UO aka how the skills and stats and stuff are being used to calculate success and failure

The UO Players Corner is apparently a good forum. The mods are a good pair, and I hear great things about the posters.
People only post there to help, or get help, so there's little of the excess motivations on non-dedicated forums. Although, that's not to say you can't post your questions here, of course.

Especially if they're mathematical in nature!
