I know that many here dont give a damn, but i do run wow a litle beside UO.
But what i like in wow is the difrent roles. What i realy miss here in UO is that we only has dps and no respect or posebilety to be good healers for a group.

In wow pvp we have folks who dps, heal, effect enviroment to slow folks down or even make them stop moving.

How would it be if we could have real healers and tinkers could do traps and thieves realy steal, removers realy remove traps and so on. Now its kind of boring.

in the form your refering to, pvp is exactly the same in both games. you can cast a spellweaving spell to slow down cast speed, you can paralyze, you can heal... the only difference is that in uo people are smart enough to callout the people who are doing this stuff and by doing so, take out the entire group.

You're saying WoW is a better/more entertaining game because they restrict a certain class to be good at one thing?

Want to be a healer in UO? Fine, pick up spellweaving healing anat magery vet animal lore and spirit speak or something. Good luck killing whoever you're healing (albiet it will be tough to heal a partner with bandies...)

Regarding stealing, etc... It has gone downhill for that I have to admit, there's not much the devs can do to save those skills but it's certaintly still more versatile than wow will ever be.

Save stealing is easy as to save many skills. If you remove passive detect on some whit higher than 400 in stealing, snooping, hide and stealth you be sure non benefites from it beside thieves. Next thing to do is to give us some to steal :)

UO PvP is boring atm, because all small team fights, like 4v4, is all dsimount/mortal kill combos. So boring

I find it boring because of the roaming gank squads on Siege. 1 thief vs 5 PvPers = not fun, especially since they don't bother carrying anything worth stealing...la

Thieves are usually criminals in real life.
I have no evidence for this per say, just what I read on this forum... Der Rock, Connor , Stigmatas and co. know the score!

I beleive that completly, even tho we gor nurfed and nurfed again and again, we still make out decent, I get my 120 scrolls by stealing them, same for stat scrolls, why buy when I know I can get them for free off spawners!!

Who needs DPS when a hit spell heavy xbow can hit for close to 50 damage in addition to you being off mount?

wow pvp is horrible, never having tried it for myself i still know why i have come to this conclusion:

1. you lose nothing when you're killed so you don't have to worry, in uo you lose insurance or uninsured items but in wow everything in bound on pickup which is pretty dumb and im not talking about arena fighting just regular out in the open

2. if you are on the side of alliance, you cannot attack another person on alliance without them agreeing to duel you and the same goes for if you're in horde and someone wants to fight you, in uo you can just kill whoever you want in fell

other things that make uo better:

1. houses
2. you can make any combination of skills on a character as opposed to wow which its just like warrior or paladin or rogue, in uo you could make a swords chivalry thief or something in one character instead of 3
3. It is LEGAL to sell items in uo for cash including your account, in wow it is illegal to do this but some people try to find ways around it
4. in uo you can pretty much buy and sell anything, in wow you have to roll on certain loot from instance bosses which are like peerlesses and if you win you can't trade it or anything you're stuck with that item

bit wrong. some items are soulbound, some bind on equip. you can still sell most of them.

i personally hate both wow pvp and the game itself.

boring grinding both ways. its fun in short sprees, but then lose its attraction pretty fast.

UO pvp is fun, but most people play to win. And on EURO most guilds just zerg it up (hi holahola +uch+blazingcrew+pact) chain despise and claim pvp is boring. Whilst infact they are fielding 2 bridges and killing a monster.

"How many times have you rerolled your character after choosing some weird class you knew very little about? If a game has levels it's going to be a grind plain and simple and you can't sugar-coat that. If a PvP game has levels, the higher levels typically have an impossible advantage so you have to get to maximum level just to be viable and to hope for an even playing field. In Darkfall everyone is viable and can PvP from day one."

Tasos Flambouras (Associate Producer of Darkfall) has it right. Almost any MMORPG out there with a Level/Class System (Which is about 95% of them) has incredibly unbalanced PvP. I had a Lvl 70 Human Mage on WoW, and let a friend of mine on him. My friend went PvPing, and completely rolled over some people with my char, despite him having no experience/familiarity with the game. I quit that day. That is a prime example of Brawns over Brains "PvP", completely relying on your Char/Equipment to do the work for you. At least in UO, there is still SOME Brains in PvP, used to be mainly Brains over Brawns in UO's PvP, but with each publish and expansion it inches more towards Brawns.

First of all i newer said thgat lvl system was good or that it take many houers to get to top pvp or any of that. What i meen is that there is no room in UO pvp for diffrent things. All is to charg fast kill in a sec and its ower.

Genaral rule of uo pvp.
1 dps so high that there is no need for healing
2 Only 1-2 set ups at time who are way OP to rest of posible skill setups
3 No need for strategy
4 all based on speed
