The Atlantic Test server should be available to all players on the main shard selection screen. While we are migrating to better hardware, we wanted to do additional load balance testing and bulletproof the new configuration - This is where you come in.

Yep, for the short time I was able to look in on it, it was a clone of Atlantic with my characters, bankboxes etc, plus the TC command set for getting items and the usual TC items and cash in the bank (although all the ethys in my bankbox had the clicoc error string instead of their proper names...)

Systems Consultant. I concur. First rule of any testing strategy....test outside the business requirements. Break it.

Find those "little" things that can turn catastrophic.

I doubt it. There's no good way to do this, due to housing.

We are actually troubleshooting an issue we ran into when migrating the Atlantic shard over to the new hardware. The only way to crash it is to get players on it. This makes it really hard to debug since we have to get you guys involved every time we want to reproduce it. If you see Atlantic Test on the shard list, it means we are trying to crash it. By all means log on and help

By telling players "we just might have some fun" is a bit like saying "put this blindfold on". If I could make a suggestion, you should give the players something to log on for, such as an event or any kind of different experience from the traditional. That is the first thought that came to my mind when I saw the call to arms...

As an example, tell them XYZ's are invading Britannia and you need their help (town crier, logon announcement etc). Or, give them the shard equivalent of The Abyss and tell them to go at it. I wouldn't think those would not be very difficult to do and would spur on some interest across all shards similar to SOTD.

Or, you could always create a shard and call it "Classic" and, you know, give it a few tweaks here and there. Hint... hint...

I hope so. Should be only 4 main shards now anyway. The rest are just filler. Close them and move people !! You would hate to lose your castle on an empty shard? What's the point?

Someone injected bad code to this shard saves and it not supported on new hardware? Like trying to run 3dnow optimized code on Intel CPU?
