[UO Herald] Publish 70.0 Available on Test Center 1 Today

[UO News]

Greetings,

Publish 70.0 will be available on Test Center 1 after 4pm today. You can find the publish notes as well as the notes for the Classic Client 7.0.13 and the Enhanced Client 4.0.13 below. This client patch is mandatory, please make sure that you get it! Be aware that this patch is larger than usual, as we are pushing the last set of missing animation files.

Publish 70.0.0

We currently have a copy of Great Lakes on Test Center 1. Hopefully this will make it a little easier to test what we have done in Maginica with the lotto.

Magincia Plot Lotto

• There are 22 lots each in both Trammel and Felucca. The island is divided up by North and South end. The North end is the area towards the beach area and these plots are 10K per ticket and you are allowed to buy one ticket per account per plot. The South end is towards the bank and these are 2K a ticket and there are no ticket purchase limits.

Magincia Planting System

• Players are able to plant seeds in grassy areas around Magincia by using a hoe. The players will have to maintain the upkeep of the seeds to keep them healthy. Only the owner of the seed can take care of the plant . The plant will be tagged with the owners name and the date he/she planted it. Players will be able to dig up the plants after they have matured and they will continue to keep the player’s name, the date planted and the date harvested.

Abyss Quest and Monsters

• Added a new quest in the Abyss, this quest will start with Xeninfor the Security Advisor and he can be found in the Royal Palace. We have also added a few new mobs to challenge your fighting talents.

Bug Fixes

• Veteran Reward Statues such as the Efreet, Harrower, Therathan Matriarch and the Fire Ant can now be turned off an on.
• The issue with fish that are fished up by a non High Seas entitled account not having resources was fixed.
• You can now fish up the new fish in Shame level 4 with the correct entitlement.
• You should now be able to obtain the Magic Key for the Puzzle Room.
• Faction Traps were removed from Magincia
• Players having a false reading of having a ship placed should be fixed
• Magic Reflection: A Murderer using magic reflect will be flagged criminal if they reflect the paralyze spell back onto a blue character
• Detect hidden will once again detect everyone. Detect hidden will apply out of hide timer to detected players that are freely aggressable.
• Splintering weapons do not lose max durability allowing them to proc infinity without destroying the weapon
• Players cannot parry when wielding a throwing weapon and a shield.
• Players who were stuck in a state where they were unable to place a new ship will once again be able to place ships.
• Magincia is no longer part of the Factions system.
• Scalis Eels will now last a maximum of 2 minutes
• Both facings of the kabuto can be dyed with the Metallic dye tub.

Enhanced Client



Starting Locations

• Players can now pick what part of the world you would like for your character to begin. You will have the option to start in New Haven if you wish. Young players can start where ever they like but the default will still be New Haven.

Bug Fixes

• Trading an item from one using the Enhanced client to another will carry over the item's position in the old backpack to the new backpack has been fixed.

I get 2k for the unlimited tickets. The more your spend the better. 100 tickets for 200k or 1 ticket for 200k is all the same.

BUT 10k for the 1 ticket per account is way to cheap. Silly infact considering you can make 100k in in about 1 hours time. Think Champs.


You might want to make the prices of those tickets a bit more costly.

Can someone either translate this or confirm what's being done here? I'm assuming this is meant to say that if a blue casts para at a red and it reflects back, the blue is flagged as an aggressor to the murderer, right?

We don't need new land space, this seems like complete waste of time and resources. Guess I'll have to see how its setup on test center, but I just don't get it.

I would have made it more valuable than Luna. Moongate in the center and an automated vendor search so u don't need those blasted vendor search sites.

Sigh what it should say is the aggressor is flagged criminal, but I guess we'll have to just test it out. As it is current, when you have magic reflect up, if someone attacks you with a spell you end up flagging first, so people have been guardwhacking reflect users since that change.

I personally disagree. I do not have an unlimited supply of gold and would like to try my chances at a plot on Atlantic. I think the way the developers orchestrated it is fair. Those that want to spend extra money can do so for the south plots closer to the bank. If you raise the one per plot per account ticket price too high, then those that are new or just casual players won't be able to enter in the raffle.

Agree. Maybe Magincia is doing a Detriot and returning the land back to pasture[?] and the fenced in areas will become fields for tilling. Would fit with the Humility theme.

Mesanna placed a reward giver at the docks about 5:20 Eastern. Players can retrieve up to 20 hoes for gardening. (The neon blue looking tree thingy by the shipwright/fisher guild.)

The only value Magincia homes possess is scarcity. In that way, they are like rares. Rest assured, there will be hundreds of millions spent on raffle tickets for each house.

It kind of makes sense that this would be a typical "rebuild" infrastructure. No need for proper streets or fancy streetlamps until the city is rebuilt. It would be kind of cool to give EMs the power to create events around adding finishing touches like this.

Still no restrictions on northern lots. If they don't address that, then 4 out of 5 winners of those lots won't even be regular players on that shard and they'll just sell them and transfer the gold to their shard.

I'd make them 1M. You want to filter out the casual player or cross shard players. If you can't afford 10K for a ticket for each plot, then you aren't going to have enough to place and construct a 16x16 anyway.

This is interesting. Planting is not limited to the few designated potting beds. It currently applies to grassy ground tiles around the city not reserved for housing. So the decorative aspect of the city could be significant if players maintain large gardens over a long time periods. Also could lead to barren fields if the interest wanes.

I like the concept if you can't afford greater ticket cost then you could never build the plot anyways. Anything to stop the grub fest. Squeeky new players or the perma broke can have their own raffle in the next housing giveaway on Haven.

Its too bad that the clothing on the CC paper dolls in the EC looks so damn awful. Many of the fancy hues are pixelated due to the sloppy resolution increase.
